I know who they are...they're a rip off company claiming to be a business yellow pages company offering a free business listing.  They claim to be "My Business Yellow Pages" but everything I've researched comes out 1rate.com.  Once they've verified your listing info, they then transfer you to the "confirmation dept" where they ask you not to speak while they record the confirmation.  However, they try and quickly slip in that they'll be providing you with internet service and website maintenance and will be charging your phone bill for $49.95.  They don't want you speaking over the recording with your objections so that they can charge your phone bill for services you didn't even want.  I got some guy from India that spoke so quicky that I barely caught what he was saying.  Every time I objected, he'd say "Exactly ma'am, but we are only stating these terms and conditions in case you decide to take us up on our offer by mail", which is a load if I ever heard one.  I finally hung up on the guy, called back and I've asked to be removed from their call list, we'll see if they honor that or not.

I had pretty much the eaxct same experience as Mel.  But I argued with them so much that they hung up on me when they determined that I was not going to agree to their terms. They called from a PA number 215-426-3790, but gave me the 877-917-6100 as a call back number.  They also gave some Ohio address that I couldn't catch because the guy talked so fast.

I received a similar call today.  They claimed it was free yellow pages listing verification.  When the first guy finished verifying my company's address he said he was transfering me to the quality department so they could send me some information in the mail.  The guy didnt even put me on hold!  He literally handed the phone to another guy.  The second guy wanted me to repeat my information so it could be recorded for quality purposes.  He slipped in the "your phone and internet service would be activated within 72 hours", at which point I said stop.  The guy begged me to not hang up and just answer the last question.  I said no and could hear him begging as I hung up.

Anyway, I got the same 877-917-6100 phone number from them.  I googled the phone number and it is listed to 7 companies:

1Rate, EndlessID.com, PowerlistOnline.com, TheBizListOnline.com, Thebusinessyellowpage.com, MyBusinessYellowPage.com, and 1SmartPage.com

They made a big deal about the time the company was open while giving me the phone number so I purposely waited until after hours and called it.  All the weblistings above give ext.200.  The after hours automated attendant does not give a company name and said dial ext 100 to leave a message.  I called back several more times and found ext 300 claimed to be tech support.  No others were available.


This is a total scam!

I have a business phone and a telemarketer called the number, spoke to an employee who is a part-timer, not authorized for any business decisions, and was quite surprised to find two months worth of charges to my phone for 49.95 each. I had no idea what these charges were for, called Verizon, sat on hold only to be disconected after 10 minutes, called the number listed on my bill for questions, found out that number is no longer working (even though the number was listed on my current bill,) called another number listed on my bill, (ILD Teleservices, Inc. Was told they do not cancel the service, then I had to call PWRLISTONLINE directly, (the number is 1-888-303-8674 in case anyone needs it) and was able to cancel the service I NEVER REQUESTED IN THE FIRST PLACE.  Hopefully, the cancellation will take effect and I will be refunded the $99.90.

Same story as above.  I asked who authorized these charges and they gave me a made up name of Mary Cooke.  I have been an employee with my company for 22 years and there has never been anyone by that name working here. I've cancelled the service and want to dispute the charges.  I asked to see a signed contract and they said they do it by voice approval. Now a third party company is suppose to call me back in 3 business days so I can here the voice approval.  This company is a total scam.
