Obviously a scam, the voicemail states she's calling about a 2 part felony complaint for charges in my local county. made me laugh when she stated that once the complaints were filed, the Sheriff's department will issue a warrant and assist her to my home or place of employment to detain me. call came from a local number in Plano, TX and gave the 877-936-3874 number as the number to reach her office back at. i could even hear a guy in the background making the same call to someone else. have had these calls before and would LOVE to know how they get our numbers

same thing with the "arrest warrant" threat here too. its a debt collection of some sort i'm certain, but they failed to say why i was "being charged with 2 felonies". the call i got today came from 323-330-1805, but i have had some guy call me with basically the same threats a few weeks ago from a number in texas. they both gave their callback numbers as 877-936-3874. this is a scam of some sort for sure.

Received the same message with the exact same message. 1st they called for my dad, then called again a week later and referred to "miss"... Hmmm I'm sorry how can you consider this being "serve" on a voicemail that isn't his phone number? I called them back and asked what the 2 part felony was and they couldn't tell me. How are you going to arrest him at work when you don't even know his number. I just hung up...

Twice I've gotten the message "felony/arrest warrant" message for "Benjamin Gage" as others have mentioned. The first time, several months ago, I returned the call, saying no Benjamin Gage at this number. Got the same message last week only checked this site and won't return the call. Thank you everyone for posting your experience.

Got a threatening voice message today from "Certified Mediations" guy named Jonathan A.  Saying that: "There is 2 part felony complaint was filed and Sheriff's department will issue a warrant and assist mediator to my home or place of employment to arrest me. Call back TODAY BY 5PM  877-936-3874 you have been legally notified in accordance to all federal and state laws."   I don't have any credit cards or debts. I filed bankruptcy 6-7 years ago. I'm not sure what to do at this point?!?! Should I call them, what do I say? Who do I complain too?

Debt collection scam.  Ignore and block the calls.
Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.

If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

    1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
    2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
    3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.

If they are bothering you, report them:

http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection (Threatening civil proceedings with no intent to follow through, or threatening criminal process in order to collect a civil debt is a  violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.)  The same goes for endless telephone harassment

Also contact your local attorney general

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.
You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking),  the only thing they understand.

No scummy scammy debt collector (mediator is a trem used by crooks to pretend they are above the law) can issue or have anything to do with an arrest warrant.  Debt is civil not criminal.  There are no felony charges.  They are simply trying to scare you into paying them money.  Now that is a felony being committed by them-it is called extortion.

Read up on your rights here and also make a complaint at this government site: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

This is a SCAM!! They will call other family members. In the FDCPA Fair debt collection practices act, it's against the law to state that anyone has an arrest warrant or police dept coming to your job or home. If you were going to be arrested, why would an idiot from out of state call you?? Don't fall for it!!!
