They claimed to be from Microsoft, that my computer had been hacked and it needed to be cleaned out. I was panicked and gave them access, then they charged me a significant amount of money and tried to get into my bank account. Luckily I called my bank right away and they blocked it. And even though the hackers told me to keep my computer on and open, I shut it down immediately. It's been very stressful - I'm a senior citizen on a very tight budget, and I don't always know what's legitimate and what isn't.
