- Mary| 4 repliesWe are a small business, husband and wife. This # called me just before 8pm on a Monday night. I answered with a hello since it's long after business hours. I was surprised to hear a real person say "Sorry, i've dialed the wrong number!" and he hung up. I called the # back about 10 mins later after searching the # online didn't provide much info. A message came on stating i had reached the Federal Processing Agency after hours. After researching Federal Processing Agency online, i found that they are linked to SAM. If you are a business with any government customers, you've likely dealt with SAM. They are the worst! Once you sign up with them to appease your Government customers, you will be harassed by email for your entire 1 year membership, informing you that you need to renew it again. I am NOT going to renew a membership that is 10+ months out. I receive regular emails from multiple SAM 3rd parties, stating i need to renew. Your info is obviously sold so others can harass you. Our membership is due for renewal 3/10/2021. Guess when i am renewing it? ;)

Third one over from the left. - Mary replies to BigAThanks for the info! Still kind of sad that's someone's life. The constant harassing emails, telling me to renew has pushed me to not renew until the last minute.
- PS replies to MarySame thing happened to me this evening, 2/2/21, at 7:40 pm. I've also had the same experience with emails from 3rd parties, not only for SAM renewal (mine is due April 2021), but also for companies wanting to "help" me secure gov't contracts -- for a price ($2,500).
- PSSomeone called my business number at 7:40 pm on 2/21/21. I answered with, "Good evening." and the male person on the other end said, "Sorry. I must have the wrong number." He then hung up. I'm assuming he was just trying to determine whether it was an actual number and I'll be receiving many more spam calls because of it.

- JeffReceived a voicemail at 8:11 PM on 2/3/2021 on our non-profit organization's phone number. Although the voice sounded convincingly conversational/non-scripted, it was clearly a pre-recorded robocall because "Rachel" was already halfway through her speech before our voicemail began recording the message. Our organization has recently signed up for the government's System of Awards Management (SAM) system and has no open applications, contracts, or awards nor are we due for SAM renewal any time soon.

- JimBobLeft as a callback number from a locally spoofed number. The classic SAM registry scammer, one ring straight to voicemail for a "service" designed to get you to pay hundreds or dollars or more to do something your company does for free annually:
“Hi hi this is Nora with FCR (?) and I was just calling to let you know that your SAM registration is expiring that your system for award management and I wanted to let you know because if it's not renewed in time you're not eligible for contractor and contractor selection are able to receive or apply for payment um and also they're encouraging everyone to renew their SAM registration 60 days prior to the due date because they are migrating to the new databases into the system so if you've already done this and received your confirmation email you're good to go otherwise call us at 888-201-2959 my name is Nora with FPR (?) 888-201-2959 thank you…”- Caller: Scammer

- OMI have been a contracting POC for DOD for 30 years. This is a scam. SAMs are free to register and will let you know when it’s due again automatically. Please let your government customer know about this scam

- Denise replies to MaryMary, I just got the same call!! We are registered in SAM but its laughable how stupid their voicemail messages are. Not only is our SAM not up for renewal until August (4 months out), but if anyone goes on SAM right now, there is a clear message saying that SAM are extending all renewals between 1st April and 30th September by 180 days due to all the issues they're having with remote working, delays with overseas registrations (we have 5 divisions overseas and its taken an average of 6 months to get the on the system before expiry. These guys are trying to get small businesses (and we are not one) to pay for them to do your renewal which takes all of about 10 minutes to do yourself. Such a gross waste of money. Buyers beware- do your own renewal - they like to make it sound like it will be complicated - it took me 10 minutes last year!!
- DeniseInfo off the SAM website in case you get this call - check your expiry date - do not jump to using these marketing mashers!! SAM Is free to register (other than your own time to gather documents).
