they called us today from the same number threatening to turn off our electricity in 35 minutes if we didn't go to Walgreens and buy a moneypak something to do with the meter definitely a scam they had my family completely scared today

This is a scam my mom got this call all in Spanish said her meter was broken  wanted her to go buy a Green pre paid card for $450  I called back the lady hung up on my when I asked for an explanation.

I received a few calls from them earlier as well and they tried saying they were going to shut down my power because the bill wasnt paid and that they were from Edison. i called Edison and everythign was good with my bill. I called them back and let them have it letting them know I knew they were scammers and some culeros.

They called in Spanish asking for the person responsible for paying the power bill.
When I asked what company he was calling from he kept saying Department of Cancellations.
I asked him 5 times the name of the company and he kept saying the same thing until finally he said Edison.

It's a scam!!!!
Edison would never call. They mail out notices.

Same thing here.  They called my mom  claiming to be the El Paso Electric Company and told her that the power would be shut off in 45 minutes. When my mom told them she had proof of payment, then they told her some [***] about the meter being broken and reading too high and that she was paying more than she needed to, so the company "blocked her payments".   I smelled [***] so I got on the phone and a lady claiming to be a manager by the name of Luisa Rosario told me to buy a Moneypak at Walgreens for $480 dollars and told me to call her back at 1888 201 8125  extension 0606.  Ofcourse,  I  called the electric company and confirmed the [***].  I also filed a report online with the Federal Trade Commission.  They are targeting Spanish speaking senior citiznes.

Scammers called from (305) 357 7777 - a lady pretending to be from the Edison electric company called my elderly aunt today and scared her. They called to say that her electricity was going to be shut off with in 1 hr. if she did not pay the amount of $495 dollars. Supposedly the meter was faulty and that's why the bill was so high. The lady asked my aunt to buy a MoneyPack and to call back at 1(800) 888 201-8125. They kept calling and calling every 5 minutes, this time it was a man by the name of Manuel Gonzalez asking about the payment. They still keep calling her. My aunt was so scared. They are taking advantage of the ederly, that is not right! According to earlier post, they seem to be scamming people since 2012.

I hope they get caught and stomped on!
