Robocaller stating they have a claim with my social security number attached and needs my immediate attention. Definitely a scam. These people have called from a different number several times last month and I never responded. They would leave messages saying they were going to serve me papers lol. Who calls before they "serve" you? I've been served before back in college and they definitely wake you in the wee hours of the morning to serve you. Block the number and move on. These people may even try and call you relatives with info they get from the white pages on google. Don't fall for it, its just to scare you out of money most times.

    Debt Extortion Scammers

A vague scare tactic message designed to panic a victim into calling back.
    Quote:
(name)...there is a important claim within our office which does require your immediate attention this is attached to your social security number press one speak with a representative life or contact 888-202-3653.

Most debt collectors will use a certain amount of pressure to convince you to pay the debt. After all, they often don't get paid unless you pay. Be suspicious of a debt collector who uses an unusual amount of pressure to get you to pay immediately, particularly if they also use scare tactics to get you to pay right away. For example, a debt collector is scamming you if it :
    • threatens you with a lawsuit and tells that you can avoid the lawsuit by paying right away
    • Says a Process Server  or Courier is coming with papers to sign
    • Threatens to call / go to your place of employment
    • Insists you have been notified, served or are non-compliant via phone message(s)
    • Refuses to give a company name or verifiable Contact source
    • Refuses to send proof of debt via US mail

A sure sign of a debt collection scam is a collector that wants to you to pay via wire transfer or another method that can't be traced. If the payment method can't be traced, you'll have a harder time getting the authorities involved.

If the creditor sounds completely foreign, or you know you never had an account with that business, there's a chance it's a scam. Never pay a collection you don't recognize. You have the right to request written proof of the debt from the debt collector before you send payment.

That is what happened to me.  I started getting calls from this place saying they are trying to serve me papers? They even called me work, my daughter, my ex-MIL.  For what?  A payday loan that I foolishly applied for but declined.  They said they have verifiable information and I argued that of course they do, I applied online and gave them that information but never accepted the loan.  They said I accepted the money.  I have since moved and now I'm getting calls from another robocaller saying they are with a locating service trying to find my address.  REALLY!!

Called the number back after they left one of their nasty grams on our office voicemail. We're a debt collection office so I had a field day with this fool.  His attitude quickly went to downright rude and nasty. He didn't like being told the rules of fair debt collection!  Study up on it folks, and have fun with them!

They have called several times from a different number not always leave this number to call them back. The last call I got they told me I have a package coming to me on Friday between 3-5. If I don’t call them back I’ll still receive the package and need 2 forms of ID. This is a scam!! This last call I got confirmed it.

They call from a different number that I have blocked but they leave a voicemail stating I have a claim made against me. They leave the number 888-202-3653 to call back. I researched this because I was suspicious. I appreciate everyone sharing their experience with them. Do not call them back. I see it as a definite scam.
