Here's a tip. When you recieve these calls on your land line and you are at home, simply unplug your phone at the wall. It will continue to ring on their end and then they will hang up.  Usually these companies will try two or three times after that (either the same day or later in the week). If there is no connection for them to make, they will give up. It isn't time nor financially productive for them.

IN other words, the reason they keep calling back is because they make a connection either with your picking up or they're getting your voice recording. Of course if it's on your cell, then you're out of luck when it comes to discouraging them. Hope this helps. Works for me.
