- C.Louis| 1 replyA voicemail, automated, said "this call is from medi-credit, calling on behalf of __(a hospital)__...."
I called the 888-213-9688, and a woman answered, "My name is Mrs. White, and this call is being recorded for security purposes." I gave her my name and asked for a website, to address this issue online, and she became VERY impatient, repeating that the call was being recorded and that she was not going to help me if i continued to be "difficult." Shocked and caught off-guard by the sudden shift in tone, I apologized (!) and began to answer some of her questions. Maybe thirty seconds passed and something was so OFF about the whole experience, I asked again for a website, and "Mrs. White" went into a tirade about me wasting her time and...basically, these people are trained to catch you off guard and SCARE you into giving out your personal info. and/or sending them money. The "outstanding bill" they were (and still are) calling about was paid a couple years ago!

- BigA replies to C.LouisWhile that wasn't a bad episode, it didn't really address how to solve your problem. I have and it is posted on page 8. All you have to do is read it and do what it says.
- BobThey have called my cellphone 2-3 times in the past 24 hours. I did not answer the call, and instead went here to learn what everyone else has found out about these callers. Thanks to the person who responded on page 8 with a what-to-do list.

- GinaCalled 2-3-2018, rang 2 or 3 times, no message, don't know this number, who is it?
- AnonymousSeems fairly legit. I answered and a woman named Russia from Medicredit was calling about a debt owed to a hospital. She asked me to confirm that she was speaking to the right person (she gave my name) then she named the hospital, dependant that was cared for, amount owed, date of the hospital visit, and the billing address on file for me (which was an old address), as well as a reference number for Medicare and an account number for the hospital. I didn't confirm anything or offer any information on the phone because I don't trust it. I will call my insurance company and the hospital billing department about this. It may be a real debt collection agency, but I still don't trust it. You are better off calling your insurance and doctors/hospital to ask about any unpaid debts.

- V replies to doodle| 1 replyThis just happened to me.
- BigA replies to VNow, if only that person stops back after 9 years to see your post. Also, if only you had kept on reading you would have found a solution to your problem. Alas, I think not only will that person never stop back, but you will leave here as uninformed as you came.
- KenVCalls often. No name on CID. I do not answer unknown calls to avoid scams and tekemarketing. No messages either. Annoying!
- RazarThey keep calling my cell phone number. The calls have been from 1:30 am to 11 pm at night. They never tell me what company they are, and half the time they don't even say anything when I pick up.
They act like little kids doing prank calls. If they are a collection agency of some sort, I will never trust them because of the childish way they act.
Also, I don't owe a bill to my doctor. My doctor's office said my bill was 100% covered by financial assistance. I have financial assistance because I am disabled, and can't work. I don't go to the doctor's office unless it is 100% covered due to the fact I can't pay the bill.
If they do believe I owe something, they need to contact whoever they are childishly working for, and get it straightened up. But this harassment needs to end, or I will be charging them for each phone call they harass me with.- Caller: Will not tell me their name.
