- Kirk JamesThe website reads "HP PRINTER TECH SUPPORT". They are not HP. They will not discuss anything until you allow them to remote into your computer. When asked if they are with HP, the gentleman, named James, said "Yes. We are a technical company." When asked a simple question he replied, "I cannot answer questions until I remote into your computer. We are not customer service."
- Caller: HP Printer Tech Support
- DanLThis is indeed a computer support scam outfit. Stay away from them!
- Victim May 2014Beware they do not call you, they have many websites claiming to be Tech support and you should not allow them to access your computer. I did believe a would be post on an Apple forum where they claimed to be the best tech support but in fact they tried to extort $400 to fix the Trojan virus they had placed on the computer. They are very open about being a criminal organization AFTER they have infected and accessed your computer. Beware and report.
- jay| 3 repliestried to have me pay $150 to fix the brand new router I bought! total scam!
- LadyA replies to jay| 2 repliesdid they have you install their app? And if so- have you had problems with your computer since? Did you allow them remote access? They just pulled the same scan on my boyfriend, and now he is worried that he may have a virus... any update from you would be appreciated :)
- Badge714 replies to LadyAIf you used the computer for banking, contact your bank now. Not tomorrow, now, and tell them what happened. First, disconnect the computer from the internet. Have your boyfriend take his computer to a brick & mortar repair shop. DO NOT get help over the internet. Get, use, and keep updated, GOOD antivirus software. Kaspersky, Norton, Avast, etc. Myself, I would suggest reinstalling the operating system. Many new computers have a feature that will let you roll back the computer to 'like new' condition. If not, you'll need the install disks & your license key. If it's Microsoft, it's a little sticker on the side of the computer, or underneath a laptop.
- Slim replies to LadyABadge714 gave you some excellent advice. Please tell your boyfriend to follow it RIGHT NOW!
Since the scammer accessed your friend's computer, they probably did one or more of the following:
• disabled the anti-virus software
• added a lot of malware to the computer
• copied the Contact List (so they can email your soon-to-be ex-friends)
• copied any financial data or passwords they could find
• compromised his ID
• "zombied" the computer, so it would respond to THEIR commands
• deleted some important files
• asked him for money to repair what damage they caused
Now, what can he do?
1. Pull the cables on the computer, so it cannot access the internet.
2. Change ALL passwords stored on the computer
3. Run FULL malware scans on the computer, in "SAFE" mode!
4. Change the passwords again
5. Contact his bank and credit card companies
6. Sign up for credit monitoring, and check the status frequently
7. Possibly bring the computers to a local repair shop, and tell them the story.
8. Tell your friends what happened, so they can be aware of strange emails
9. Plug in the computers only AFTER all the above have been done
10. Change the passwords on all online accounts.
Remember, honest computer companies do NOT cold-call people to tell them their computers need fixing!

The sandeep guy sounds like he has a dick in his ass. Computer scam beware. Its fun just calling them to bug them. I recommend calling from skype not your cell as they can track the number and call back.
