It appears to be XM radio. I have been receiving calls from this number since 9/22 to now, every night. I finally had enough, so I therefore requested to speak with a Supervisor to "Stop calling me, especially at 8 o'clock at night." She stated that they would stop. My next request was to do business with me through the mail. She agreed that they would. This was last night. I just received another call from them and they hung up on me. This is absolutely getting riduculous and frustrating. What should be my next step?

Traded ion a Jeep for a Camaro and now this company says I owe for Sirius radio that I do not have or own anymore. 2 different accent people with Indian accents calling my wife and I harassing us for money. We called Sirius/XM customer service and we have no outstanding balance and owe them nothing. Very irritating. We have told them twice to stop calling and harassing us. My wife is reporting this number to Sirius/XM as I type this.

I went to the Sirius XM website and called directly from the number from the site and they said I don't have any outstanding charges. My credit card says payments are still being taken out as usual but when they call me from the 888-228-7996, the guy was pressuring me to give him my bosses credit card. I don't understand when I call them, there's no outstanding charges but they keep emailing and calling me on a different telephone number different from the website say there is. I'll "update" my info when the XM radio service actually stops playing on my bosses radio.

I was called by this number today about my subscription needing to be updated and paid for for sirius xm.  I switched banks recently, so therefore my old credit card on the account was closed.  The woman on the phone had all the right info.  i told her i'd call her back with my information.

I then called sirius XMs help line and the woman there told me it was due for new payment and renewal, but there wasnt a record of a call being made to me.

It is possibly (not saying it IS) someone phishing overdue accounts for credit card information.

As always in situations like these, NEVER give your information to someone who calls You!  Always call them back at their main number that handles accounts.  better safe than sorry.

The person claimed to be from Sirius/XM Radio calling from a local number, but talking with a broken accent.  The person was claiming my payment information did not go through and wanted up-dated info.  I asked for a number to call back and was given 888-228-7996, which per this website looks to be a known phishing scam number for the same purposes.

I also got a call which my caller ID identified as Sirius FM.  My husband told me I should get their number and call back, as they said my card had expired and they needed updated info.  They gave me the 888-228-7996 number, but I decided to go on their website instead.  My card had indeed expired, so I updated my info on the site.  So......these calls appear to be legitimate.

They called for my boss too. When the number popped up on our caller ID though it was a 202 area code and it said Bar Association smh. Sounds like a scam.

This number has been calling my husband's office phone for weeks, five, six, seven, eight times a day.  They say they are calling about an overdue Sirius radio account on a car we no longer own.  They want our credit card information, which we refuse to give over the phone. They tell us that there is absolutely no other way to pay Sirius, that Sirius has no online presence, and there is no way to receive a bill through the mail.  I called Sirius, who were very helpful.  They tell us we have no active accounts with them and no amounts due or past due for anything at all whatsoever.  Definitely a scam!

I am concerned about the people on the other end of this number.  Please do not share your credit card information with anyone who is calling you.  You can always call a company with a valid phone number for security purposes.

I recently received a letter in the mail at my current residence that my Sirius XM account was overdue.  I have been receiving calls for the past several days from various 855 numbers including 855-404-0163 and 855-283-3957.  I assumed it was Sirius radio as I had recently received the notice letter in the mail.

This evening, I answered one of the calls from 855-404-0163.  Someone named Jake was on the other end asking for my credit card information to update my Sirius account.  I told him that I would be happy to pay the amount that was overdue as my credit card information had changed, but that I needed to end the contract.  His response was, "The account automatically renews, and there is nothing you can do."  My phone then dropped the call, and when he called back he began the call asking for my full name and address.  I knew that Sirius had my current address on file as I had just received a letter from them, and felt a bit strange about the call.  I told the gentleman that he was calling me and he should have my address on file.  He then gave me the "address on file" which was a residence I haven't lived in for two and a half years.

I told Jake that I needed to call him back, figuring that if I called Sirius I could confirm it was actually them.  Jake told me that I couldn't call him back.  I told him I was getting off the phone and would call back immediately, but I needed his phone number.  He provided 888-228-7996.  This was NOT the phone number provided on the actual mail correspondence that I received from Sirius.  I promptly called the number that Sirius actually provided (866-255-9767), and received a message that their call centers are not currently open.

Beware.  This seems fishy.  Don't ever provide your credit card information to someone who is calling you.

As a follow up to my previous comment, I called the actual number provided by Sirius radio today.  They told me that they have an outsourced company that sometimes does these calls, but that the call wasn't on their records.  It is still strange, but it is looking like it was Sirius after all.
