They called me this afternoon threatening me that I was going to be getting picked up by the local law enforcement.

message popped up on my computer saying i had a virus and should call that number

This number pop-up of my computer screen and was unable to remove. Windows defender,Hyper V manager, hard disk may have corrupt. Obviously, it was a hack on the computer.  Did not call just let computer shut down

Went to use my laptop and suddenly one of my tabs was showing all kinds of pop-up windows saying I had a virus, pornographic website was infecting my computer and I needed to call the number.  I couldn't close any tabs or open any  new ones.  Despite being suspicious I called the #, spoke with someone who was asking me questions about my activity and told me it was being hacked by someone in Pittsburgh, PA, which is where I live.  He instructed me on steps to take and then looks like he remotely connected and got me to where I was able to open an 'in-private' window and asked if I ever did any online shopping or banking.  When I said yes he told me to check my accounts and cards and see if everything looked ok.  I checked my current bank account and all looked alright, and he said 'what about cards' and I said I only have a bank card, to which he just said 'oh'.  Next thing you know, I was saying I was just going to open another tab and check to see if it was normal and the phone call cut off.  I was never able to get back thru to the number.

That's ok he got what he wanted which was your user name and password for that bank account.  Also got all your contacts and other user names and passwords and anything else you might have on that computer.
