this called leaves a voicemail that I wrote bad checks and will be receiving a summons to court, and states I should call this number that I am reporting,  I have no record of bad checks.

I am dealing with the exact same thing, I received a call from them this morning saying exactly what you said, you owe us money and you are being summoned, you have now been served. First off you are not being served, they need to put the piece of paper in your hand to serve you official court summons.  If I were you I would document everything you have in regards to conversations with them. Research the debt fair collection practices act, learn the things they are and are not allowed to do, compile everything they do that is illegal and file a law suit on them. If you can track down there address please post it on here. I would like to send them documentation requesting debt validation. There are more of us dealing with them and if with work together and compile docements against them, maybe we can get there illegal company shutdown.

Just received a message from TAMMY SMITH that I should contact 888-231-1307 and speak with these people about a bad check. She says this is my last opportunity to solve this matter out of court or she''ll be at my job to serve me papers. She gives this BOGUS case number and exits the message by saying, "You've been notified"! First off NOBODY calls you to tell you they're getting reay to serve you!! Plus, I don't write checks, so I dón't know WTH she's talking about. i am anxiously calling the people back, because when I file Bankruptcy this week, I need their info to include in it!!  Now notify THAT!!!

BTW, they answer the phone as CAPITAL.

We got a message from ALICIA KEARNS (she did not say what company she was with) who knew our name & said she was looking for a MONICA ALVARADO (a person we do not know & have never heard of). The call was reguarding a fraudulent check and we were supposed to call back this number 888-231-1307.
I did call the number back & told the girl who answered the phone that I had received this message about a fraudulent check & SHE HUNG UP!!
I called back again & asked the name of the company.....They said, CAPITAL LEGAL. They also said they were in South Carolina. What's funny is the woman(didn't get her name, of course) said she thought they had a case regarding a Monica Alvarado & could not give me any information. I told her I don't know the person & I do not want any of her info. I just want to know WHY you are calling me!
She hung up as well.

I too received a call from a lady with an unknown caller ID at work telling me that a lawsuit was filed against me and I needed to call a Mrs. Scott who is the attorney who is handling this case, she wouldn't tell me what about but then again I didn't ask I was busy. She gave the same number 888-231-1307, she gave me a case number, said good luck and hung up. I also checked my cell voice mail, she left the same information, but further told me that she was offering me a chance to speak with the lawyer handling it before she sent out her summons people because (and this is of course according to her) if i don't call and these summons people show up I cannot speak to the lawyer anymore regarding the information on my case. She also said let this message serve as your official notification. What a bunch of crap. If its regarding what others have recently posted I haven't written a check in over 15 years. Ive also tried to call back but the recording states that they are on the phone and I have to leave a message. This should be interesting.

I got a call Tammy Jones and ssys she wants to meet me to give me a summons at my job or home.  I cursed them out on the number they gave me. It is 888-231-1307.  It shows unknow number on my caller id.
