Pretending to be Comcast....robbing people of their money

Today, 06/09/20, this experience happened. This caller's number appeared to be Comcast Xfinity. O that's why I didn't hesitate to answer the phone. Even though I did NOT request a call back from Comcast xfinity to solve a problem, there was an automated message asking if my problem was resolved (from last time). Then a lady with an East Indian accent came on the phone and told me that I would receive an email about a technician coming out to my home. Then, she gave me a promotional deal that sounded too good to pass up! $180 up front then 6 months of internet without payment until after that 6 months are up. Then you only pay $29/mo.

I got a call from someone that came through as COMCAST's real customer service number.  Same deal, change my plan from it's current to $139.99 a month, and nothing changes with my plan.  But I had to pay them 2 payments up front.  I did not do it, but I called Xfinity today and they said, they don't have a promotion like that and it is most likely a scam.  I called the number they gave me in case I changed my mind, 888-231-8264 and it answers as COMCAST.

Got a call from this number today, 8-19-2020.  Looked it up, says it's a scam.  Glad I checked into this before I took them up on the offer.
