- tymI received a call from an unknown number and it was a lady stating that she was in my area and she would serve me papers at 12 noon. I told her I didn't know what she was talking about and asked her if she could tell me what kind of papers I was being served. She replied she didn't know but gave me a number to call and speak with a Mr graver. He was very rude and he hung up in my face. I call my local district attorneys office and the criminal and civil magistrate office and gave them the case number that the lady had given me. They all told me that number meant nothing to them. I called back and told Mr graver that my local DA office said they needed a case number and more information he told me he didn't wish to discuss the matter with me anymore and hung up again... The number was 8882400313.... This all happened about an hour ago.

- Helen| 1 replyI got the same phone call at work. Told me that they was in my area at work and that they would serve me with papers that if I didn't want to be served with these papers to call the 1-888-240-0313 and to cancel the order. If I didn't do it within the hour that they would serve me at work. I am still waiting and not calling the number either. I knew it was a scam. I have been getting these phone calls at work every 2 weeks. How can I stop them from calling me at work?

- Robert| 4 repliesReceived a call from a Mr. Finkle. Thought I might be a contact to help him reach another party. Mr. Finkle believes this person may have been a victim of identity theft and that I could help him. Left his number 888-240-0313 and asked me to call back.
- Elspeth replies to HelenPrint up this thread and give a copy to your HR Dept and/or manager. Your employer can also report these losers to the FTC, as well as see if their telecom provider can block the calls. REAL process servers do not call and ask you to call another number to "cancel" anything - they just show up, papers in hand.

Follow the steps in what you need to know. A legitimate debt collector agency should not have a problem with giving you a real business name and address you can google and verify via google street view, BBB etc.

And folks should consider looking at maybe getting call blocking device or phone....you can Google them and many are around $60 or so. - Mike in MD replies to RobertBased upon the two posts prior to yours this sounds like a debt collector either doing skip tracing looking for someone they think you may know or they are actually trying to trick you into calling back because they think you owe a debt.
- C. L. replies to Robert| 2 repliesI also just received a call from Mr. Finkle who did not want to give me contact information for him, but finally game me the number of 18882400313 ext. 303. He said that I had 5 minutes to call him back or I would be served at work tomorrow on an issue that I was not aware of.
- MJG replies to C. L.IF you were really to be served, you would NOT be told in advance. The server would show up announced.
Demand written proof of this alleged problem. - CJ replies to C. L.I also received the same call and that he was a process server in my area and was hired to serve me documents and that I had 1 hour to call back the 888-240-0313 or they were going to serve me at work or my home. Well it is now Thursday and still nobody showed up. Big scam just a way to extort money from people.
