Recorded message claiming they were calling about a debt I owed. Not totally sure but believe is a collection agency connected to Consumer Cellular (do not owe any monies). Had service with Consumer Cellular early 2021, was dissatisfied with their service and arranged to transfer service and phone to another carrier. Consumer at first refused to issue code to permit phone to be transferred claiming I owed another month's payment. Was not sure if my payments were running a month behind or ahead so said okay and paid an extra month so they would issue the transfer code so I could transfer my cell phone. The code was issued by Consumer and transfer was effected. Thought that was the end of it. Two months later I started getting threatening e-mails and phone calls claiming I had never cancelled with Consumer and owed an additional two months (about $180). At this point am filing a complaint with FTC. If you are a senior you know from the AARP magazines Consumer Cellular targets seniors; suggest you look at my experience and beware.

Consumer Cellular clearly states that they bill the month after service.  It is not a prepaid plan.  I can sympanthize with the bad service.  I had them as well and it was terrible.  Their customer support is useless and their promises are worthless.  $180 for two months sounds like a like when you compare their published prices. Who is calling you?  Are they calling you or is a third party debt collector calling you?

ditto - Consumer Cellular first gave me a phone number [in my area code] that some pervert had so I was getting endless text & SMS messages with form pictures attached to them.
THEN... gave me a  phone number [extreme far out of my area code] that was used in political campaigns so every time I tried to call someone, they had the number blocked so I couldn't reach anyone ..EVER!  ConCell kept refusing to give me a new number in my actual area code, and kept giving me more [in a HIGHER TAXED RATE ]area code so I'd have to pay more in taxes, and ALL of which were used for POLITICAL CAMPAIGNS. Then after 3 attempts they refused to keep trying to find me a legitimate area code number in my area with the lower tax rates. I refused to pay for service that I couldn't use properly, so now they turned it over to these psycho collectors, who are NOW  ruining my credit rating that it took me 8 years to finally achieve. THIS...IS GOING TO GO TO A LAWSUIT AGAINST Consumer Cellular as well as the collector agency! . So they were sending me endless spamming & threatening emails until I blocked them,, and now into the phone calls. So I also had to block those as well.

OH,, and the $24.48 that they claimed I owed them for the month, then was$63.something, then it was $88 something, and kept going up and up by the month, even though the service had been terminated long before the initial bill was sent out..and I declined to pay it for the obvious fraud.

I find it interesting that you don't know the name of this alleged collection agency.
