Yup, just received the same message.  Said (Contact NetSpendDepartment) Call 18882404028. The call appears to come from Delhi, India.

Got the same exact text message, from @verizon.net. Message states: (Contact NetSpendDepartment) Call 18882404028.

Last night I set up an account through Securus Technologies so that a person in jail could call me, kind of like a pre-paid collect calling card.  Part of the process involved step-by-step automated instructions via the cell phone, and the computerized voice had a distinct sound.  This morning, I received a text:  (Contact NetSpendDepartment) Call 18882404028.  I called the number, and a computerized voice that sounded EXACTLY the same as the legitimate voice from Securus said, "Thank you for calling NetSpend Card Services.  We regret to inform you that due to a technical error, the validation process on your card account was not completed.  Please press 1 to validate your identification so that we may continue to process this transaction.  So I pressed 1, and the first thing they asked for was my 16-digit card number.  LOL  - NO THANKS!!

my husband and I have both received text messages just simply saying call 18882404028 from 817896198@verizon.net I called and received a message from a pre paid cc well I dont have this so I assume its a Scam.

I received the following text message on my work cell phone. I didn't reply or call the number.
