It's a scam caller. When I looked up the number it comes back as high risk for identity theft.

I received a text message on my phone which said : 'My husband's name', it is important that you contact me -- Sarah Smith, 888-240-5425, ssmith@kingstondc.com.
The display contact number was listed as : 1-250-448-4811

This person has been trying to contact me for about a year. They try to hind behind a Social Security work program call. Her attitude/tone has changed each month basically demanding me to call her, “this is a sensitive matter that acquires your immediate attention”, “a serious matter repairable with my input and cooperation”, “I trust you will do the right thing and contact my firm”, “a claim of yours has come up for review *mumble* action taken by this office”, “if you want to participate in this review it’s your right to do so”. Got one today and they again hid behind a ticket to work program. SS hasn’t tried contacting me by mail in this year nor have my benefits been effected so I know it’s not them. Total scam, shows as “unknown” on iPhone but she said to call this number 2265352019 on a few occasions. The store and number alternates. SCAM.

Its a collection agency. They buy old debt that other collection agencys cant collect, but yet they think they will be succesful. Trying to get people to pay off debts that are 5 or even more years old. What a waste of time

HM described exactly my experience. People are getting very creative regarding their approach. If you know you didnt do anything wrong, dont fall for strange interaction.

Clearly you did not receive a text message from "this number" which would be 888-240-5425 so why are you posting in this thread instead of the thread for the number that you got that text from?

Do not answer, or call back... aggressive scammer!!
They have been calling my number once a week for a year. Always leaves a voicemail for Mohammed (not my name), over time the "lady's" voicemails have become more aggressive using language like "urgent", "why have you not called me back", "this is a very important matter"....

I just got a call from this number it shows up as KDC-C Sarah Smi and the voicemail was extremely mumbly, womans voice, said to call back.  Glad I read all this and know its a scam.

Received a text from 647-428-3948 asking me (by first and last name) to call "Sarah Smith" @ 888-240-5452.  I looked up the name Sarah Smith, it came up as a site APPARENTLY connected to the government.  My ex has been having major issues with his taxes and he informed me the gov may be contacting me.  For this reason I called the number.  I got a voicemail stating the person I was trying to reach was unavailable and that they would search for someone else to "help" me.  I immediately hung up and kept searching the internet further.  Glad I came across this site.  THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!

I received a text message on my cell which said : 'my name', we are attempting you reach you regarding a claim on which you are named party, please contact Sarah Smith at 888-240-5425 or email ssmith@kingstondc.com.
The display contact number was listed as : 1-647 6990008
I called back on 888-240-5425 and she told me they are debit collectors and you did not pay Enbride bill of property and you can pay now over phone to keep your credit clean and before we start process.
I was surprised as all my bills are preahthorised.
asked her to send me link to pay online.
I called Enbride CS and they no payment requried as you are preauthrized.

I received a text message from Sera Smith she asked to call her that it was very important lol but then again she asked for a Jacqueline lol 😆 not even my name lol and I have this phone number at least for 15 year !! SCAMS it is!!
