    Greg
Got three messages on my cell phone from a weird computer generated voice asking "Erin" or "Aaron" to call 1-888-243-9873 and quote a reference number.
My name is Greg, and I don't know any Erins or Aarons, but the voice kept repeating "This is not a telemarketing call".

Once a lady named Melissa left a message for Erin/Aaron to call back the same number. Didn't say why. I called the number, and an automated attendant answers, but doesn't say where I called, just that my call is being recorded. (Freaky) I tried to get to Melissa'a extension, and got her voice mail.

I'm still trying to get hold of this weird company/organization/whatever. I'll post more when I find out.

Finally got hold of Melissa, and gave her the reference number. She took my number off the list so I wouldn't get calls any more after I insisted I had no idea who Erin Bergeron was.

I then asked her what company I had called. She said (get this!)
"I'm sorry sir, I can't tell you that."
"Excuse me?" I responded, shocked at her response.
"Thank you for calling, sir." -CLICK-!

What the hell? What kind of a place is this?

God they are such [***].  They keep calling even though I said I'd pay my bill when I can.  Man they expect you to live like a sub-human.  I have to pay for my tv and internet.  And my kids - do they expect me to make them suffer!! It appears so!  Told me not to buy them stuff and to STARVE them.  There only kids, so evil. it is sooooo unfair.  Then they say there going to stop me from being able to buy stuff by "ruining my credit".  They cant do that.  Ive offered instalments you no 20 dollers a month -its all I can afford without screwing my mortgage or car payments but they just keep saying "not a financial institution" and i need to pay it all. so what are they if not finances???????? they want my finances!  Say there going to sue me!  They just wont work with you.

this is a collection company who uses a computer to collect money owed from you. It calls you and a computer leaves a message with a file number.

Looks like you owe money. If you call back to the collection company, the collection agent, asks you questions so it can get info to SUE YOU for money you owe.

DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR WORK NUMBER, WORK PLACE, unless you want your wages garnished.

DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CELL NUMBER, unless you want them to harrass you and charge up your cellular phone bill.

You have two choices, call them back and PAY YOUR BILL, or DONT ANSWER, and they will stop calling after 20 tries.

they keep calling leaving messages for "sam andretti"...i called them to leave a message saying i don't know who that is and got the same voicemail / "your call is being recorded".  their answering machine message doesn't state the company name, so that's a good sign they are not legit.  hello, frad squad!

Not sure what you owe...but they are using scare tactics; they are unlikely to sue, since it costs more...they don't like taking payments since they get paid on commission; the bigger you pay, the bigger their commission...just pay them a small amount each month anyway...say that's all you are doing...they'll take it (don't send cash; perhaps pay at the bank, and don't send cheques)...although by sending post-dated cheques you can apparently keep them from phoning you untill the they all go through...don't give them any info. on where you work, etc...don't let the "rouse" you in any way; and definately don't starve your kids...talk to free credit counselling too...they can help

    done it and it works
Just tell them that you are not the person and ur number is new dont cnfrm ur name give a different name dont say u know the called person Legally they are supposed to remove your number off the list

    OR

Tell them that you have decided to claim for bankruptcy and that you are currently in the process of it that should help you dont rcv calls for about 3 to 6 months

    OR

The best Option is change your number and have it unlisted The rule goes that if they cannot get hold of you for 7 years it is taken off your credit report and dont post your number & Name anywhere on the net or any forms as they do get hold of it eventually

They're very agressive and keep on hanging up on you yet threatening more calls until you pay the bill. Best trick: call them back, 5 - 10 times, insist to speak to a supervisor and let it be known that you will keep on calling back until the agree to stop calling you. They will stop, just keep on calling them.

Consumers should report them and Rogers
They I suspect are buying or getting paid by Rogers to harass OVER BILLED CUSTOMERS
    do not pay Rogers extra
Make sure you record your telephone calls of Rogers or collect Corp  via cell phone web iPhone tape recorder what ever send to your self somehow for safe keeping in case of this mark the file Rogers or something you remember keep all bills they send you documents even if good for just in case
They have put fees on later they over bill people as MOST PEOPLE have no time 4 hours one day cell time work time they owe me plus more - keep track of your outages lost time cell use charges
Lost vac day to deal with Rogers mess email them internally and consumer crtc and minister over crtc or telecommunications and cable the complaint the commissioner of complaints is not neutral as his salary is ?paid by the business that you might be complaint of.
You need to realise collect Corp is getting your private info from someone else REPORT IT
to all agency offices human rights women's shelters men's shelters  where women's men's  private info is passed to others who are not always reputable via Rogers.
Privacey commissioner bbb and maybe send the calling company a bill for what they have caused you lost time long distance stress etc.
@rci.   Rogers internal communication  if you need to direct email a person there you need their first last name look it up on net
It's not ok for them to treat some people ok others badly with extra billing depending on their moods
At Rogers - and really it's so easy for them to blame the computer.
It's not ok their software is hogwash make sure you know your billing amount and how to check Internet use and record dates of no use not wOrking cable Internet. Telephone
What it caused you to miss or cost you Driving to your moms place or back to work etc
Make sure you know if Outages in your area - here the guy in red truck admitted outage to a hole block can't get Internet to work at speed it should he said
So get up off your chairs and walk out to the service truck as the tech questions as inare you doing upgrades is there an Internet problem here etc
Be nice to them or don't expect them to help you ever.
Collect Corp needs to be audited for practices and how much money they report to rev canada
That they make people pay them - varying amounts
Just saying think before you do anything please
They over charged me hundreds I caught themthey owe me but offer me ?
Just a Pvr free with no cable to make it work how low are they
How mean and heartless are they - is there insurance for the bill to be billed correct ??
Who is there to stop them - our gov needs to take back control from Rogers

    Is not ok.

    Hassan
They called me every day for about 3 weeks, finally i called back, they asked my name and number, i gave it to them, they asked if i was born in January of 1993 i said no (im around 10 years older) the person on the phone was able to tell by my voice that im not that young, he asked if i lived on pinecrest.. i said never.

he said "Kevin is the person who has been calling you, ill transfer you to him" i said "what is this about" he stuttered for a few seconds, and said Kevin can better answer those questions however it doesnt sound like its me that they want to speak to. Im assuming there is a person out there with my name .. and they searched until online and probably got my number .. there are tons of Hassan's in Canada... the odds of them getting the right person are slim to none. i dont have a bad credit and i dont recall ever dealing with a "collect corp" as mentioned above.

To get rid of those calls, do what i did. Call back, tell them they have the wrong person(which is true in my case) and they'll most likely stop.. they havent called back in a couple of days. we'll see!

I keep getting calls from this number. The lady tells me that i have matter to deal with Sheridan College. I paid up all my fees to my school and now paying only OSAP. I talked to OSAP and I'm paying them already, i talked to my school they said they don't know what it is.

I also get nothing in the mail about that i owe money to Sheridan or CollectCorp Central Inc. And they say "We are not a Collecting Agency". Then why is it in your name? This is their link:

They just called and asked for my son (who owes money for university).  Caller ID name and number says "unavailable".  Spoke to a woman named Ellena. She gave me this toll free number for my son to call. When I asked her the company name - she identified it as GATESTONE.
She was very pleasant and thanked me for taking her info.
