I have been contacted by:  "BROWNLEE & ASSOCIATES" - a company that does not exist. Here is the # he gives as his contact info:  888 246 0027 ext. 404.   This number is to a Franchise Business, not a law firm.   I reported this to the: FTC, CFPB, and the FBI.  They have my SS#, and they are using it to try and extort money from me.   "Mr. Stevens" who calls me from a blocked number has threatened to: report me to the DMV and have my drivers license suspended, contact my manager and HR dept. at work, and find me at my home.  Then he called my mom in NY to harass her about me.  This is a scam, he claimed to be a Sr. Adviser with the "legal dept."  and as soon as I told him it was being recorded, he said "good luck with the judge" and hung up.  This is the 2nd round of these scammer calls I have been getting, the first ones came about two months ago from another # and when I told them I was recording the call, they hung up also.  These guys are disgusting, lowlife criminals.  Report them if they call you!

This happened to my girlfriend this morning.  Unbelievable.

Said they have court proceedings, I know better!!!

Same thing, threatened me with having a payday loan and wanted a statement from me for court proceedings. They have my social as well, I stated they had the wrong number and they threatened me more. Like that works this day and age.
How do I protect myself anymore? Caller came from an "unknown" number.
