This number is Linked to 6169802589 if you call the 616# back and then hit zero, it says it will connect you to the 888# whereupon the VM system says voicemail is full, and if you hit # * it says its from the Boost Mobile Voicemail system.

I agree with the previous post from Israel - I called the 616-980-2589 number back, and stayed on the line to speak with a live operator.  I was then transferred to a Spanish speaking nextel number.

Same info reported herein... so when it comes to finding out online, until now we can get to that same info, it's time now to move forward and build up a list of we, the callers that are being harassed by those "UNPROFESSIONAL" phone calls in order to file a Lawsuit under corresponding telemarketing limitations laws... speak up to friends and more about these upsetting phone calls and let's take it from there... don't just blame it on anyone since we're way far from identifying how they've gotten to our phone numbers PERIOD! but what's vailable to us at least until now is Thru our Caller ID we can identify a number that can obviously be reported as part of that ILLEGAL telemarketing to our cell phones... don't lose a minute more...
TO do so, go ahead and create an E_mail Especially for this Ongoing cell phone Harassment campaign and then forward your info about which number called you, reporting the date time and recorded message or person you've talked to anyhow... forward the info to me as one of the main victims and with that E-mail we will communicate about further steps to take with regards to SEVERLY PUNISHING the authors of those inappropriate phone calls...
I advise to create an new e-mail only dedicated to further adressing this Concern to avoid being surged by junk-Emailers as well... in your regular E-mail...

Since anyone called will try to search any info about the number, this message will be seen and read as many as possible... if you think you can helkp in spreading it out of the box as well feel free to copy and send to friends so as to bolster the impact...SEVERELY...

Ok, Another one with no way to contact them, but hey, they got an 888 number, that means they want you to call and they are willing to foot the bill... so accomodate them... call and call and call and take as much time as you need on each call... it's their dime. Also, while you're at it, let the FCC start a file on them and add to that file every time they call you https://esupport.fcc.gov/form1088/consumer.do

This number is also linked to 231-732-2304. As a Canadian, we don't have the ability to file complaints with the FCC, but we do have the ability to file complaints with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, as telemarketing/phone scams that are done outside of the proscribed laws here in Canada is a punishable criminal offense. I have already contacted the Phonebusters Task Force here in Canada, and I urge any other Canadians who receive these calls to follow suit.

Followup to the previous post. Contacted Phone busters (Their number is 1-888-495-8501). They are aware of the scam, and there is currently a criminal investigation, as it is illegal in Canada to contact a person stating that they have won a prize of any type, and then request any payment information.  This constitues fraud, and here in Canada, that is puniishable by up to 10 yrs in jail. I hope these guys get nailed to the wall.

They called me also.  It is not right what they do and there is no responsibility either.  I hope they are told to stop their practices of calling like they do.

I got a call from another number today [(231) 732-2628] saying they wanted to give me a good deal on Dish Network set up and equipment. When I hit one during the recording to speak to a live operator to ask them to take me off the call list and remind them that I am on the "National Do Not Call List", the operator that answered said "Your not on our list. HAHAHa!" I immediately tried to call the company back. It gave me the option to dial in my number for the do not call list or hit another number to speak to a operator. First, I added my number to the do not call list, then I called it back again to speak to an operator or supervisor and explain that harassment calls, like the one I got, are against the law. It said it was forwarding me to 888-246-8038, then it rang one time, then "click" apparently because it had hung up. I tried to call the 888 number manually, same thing happened. Tried three more time, got a busy signal two times, then the hang up again. I contacted Dish Network's corporate office to inform them. They have my number listed for both the companies do not call list and on the national list. I was forwarded to a specific department that handles these types of calls and the gentleman was so helpful. He even asked if I would be involved in a "sting" if call for them keep coming to me. It was a simple and appreciated thing. I think I will do this for all the harassing telemarketers I can identify.

It has been calling my cell phone number for months now.  Each time I go go through the option of opting out, it waits two weeks then calls back.  No live agent to talk to, option 2 gives busy signal.

This 888-246-8038 phone number is tied to 517-931-2512.  This scam is to try and reduce your local phone bill.  As above, calling the 888 # takes you to voice mail.

Got called on 1/23/09 by (231)732-8038, I said "Hello" and heard no reply or silence and then the call was disconnected.  Called the no. back to hear a pre-recording giving me 2 options: 1) enter my number to remove it from a sales call list or 2)wait on the phone to speak with someone at this unidentified Customer Service center.  While waiting to speak with a live person I was told I'd been connected to (888)246-8038.  Next I heard a busy signal and the call was disconnected.  Then I called the (888) number and was told that this number was an invalid and no longer used phone number.  This experience has been another HARRASSING one and caused me to report it to the police.
