Very to call Ken Hughes at 888-249-1037, not a sales call

I have been plagued with 888-249-1037, almost daily now. If there is anything that can be done about this, please help. I just want these calls to STOP! We have no debt, so there is no reason for these scammers to be contacting, us. It's from Merchant Credit Guide trying to drum up business. 223 W. Jackson Blvd. Chicago, IL 60606 888-249-4134.....fax 888-249-1037. I am on the DO NOT CALL list until 2011......HELP

I have received many calls from this "Ken Hughes" over the past 3 years! I got so frustrated with him, that I talked to him during the first year he started calling. He was looking for some woman who apparently had my number before I got it, and obviously had some debt he was trying to collect. I explained to him that I had no idea who this woman was, and this number did not belong to her now and his constant calls was very harassing to me and to please remove this number from his data base. I could tell by the tone of his voice that he did not believe me and said he would remove this number, but of course he didn't, because I am still getting these calls 3 years later! Don't they have some type of time frame that after a while they write it off? I'm on the DNC list too, but it has done very little in reducing these types of calls. Has anyone had better luck stopping this guy?

I just got off the phone with a woman claiming to be trying to collect a 7 year old phone bill for $66.37.  The phone company gave me grief some years back, but quit when I paid it.  I still have the same phone company and I'm in good standing.

I asked her to prove up the debt, and she said she doesn't have to prove anything to anyone.  I told her she needed to prove to me that I actually owe the debt, and I may well choose to pay it.  I didn't tell her anything to the effect that the debt was too old to collect, but she says it's a new debt, because her office just got it.  

She started talking real fast and wouldn't let me speak.  I asked her more than once to please let me speak.  She wouldn't so I told her to [***] and hung up on her.

I keep getting phone calls repeatedly from an automated system that has a recording of some woman with a thick accent mis-pronouncing my name saying they are collecting for a debt (which is false, I do not have any outstanding debts with any company or firm currently).

These calls are coming at least 2 times every week from the same thing and when I call the number back, I get a woman who talks so fast saying that I owe some $5,000 debt from 10 years ago when I got a divorce. . and I have no idea what she is talking about, like the poster above me she talks so fast I can not speak to her, she was a thick Italian accent, etc.

So eventually I just started disregarding the calls and deleting the messages. . what are they going to do, come to my house? If need be I will take this to court for harassment and them trying to collect an outdated debt.

Spoke in heavy islamic voice with islamic music in background, asks for ELEAD R FREEDMAN and gives me a verification code. Latest incident claimed they were debt collection and have been calling for two years. I doubt there is anyone in the US with this name. I have contacted the FBI in the past about this.

Incomplete voice message left on July 4. No debts. Very annoying.

Call trying to locate a person by the name of Judith. We have received numberous calls over the last several years attempting to contact Judith. We have always advised the caller no one by that name is at this number.

This time the call said if this is an incorrect number for Judith press 9 and our number would be deleted.

Keep getting these calls. Sometimes they leave messages asking us to call Ken Hughes. Other times they just hang up. If we happen to answer (RARE) there is usually no one on the other end or it's just a recording. VERY annoying. Looked Ken Hughes up online and there is nothing but terrible things written about him and this company, Merchant's Credit.

I have been getting calls from a woman who says she is calling for a person that I have never heard of.
  This is evidently a recording because when I speak she just keeps talking.

recorded msg for someone other then myself. They use the same last name though.

We, to, get this call at least 4 times a week. Whoever Ken Hughs is he needs to learn who he wants to "call him back." Our number is listed under my husband and only his first initial comes up. So they only ask for his initial and our last name

I have been receiving this phone call for many weeks. I answer the phone and say "hello",no one answers, I say "hello" again, finally the recording starts asking for my husband and saying they are trying to collect a debt. They list the phone number to call regarding it- we've never called. We have no outstanding debt. Very annoying. We are also on the "Do Not Call" list- doesn't seem to help.

This number calls my home atleast 5 times a week asking for a betty weaver.. I dont know a betty weaver! They have got so now they leave a  message on the machine saying if you are not _____ (betty weaver) please disconnect this call and your number will be deleted. If you continue to listen to this message you acknowledge that you are betty weaver.
I have gotten calls for 6 years from these people! Will it EVER stop??

Most of the time if I answer this number nobody starts talking. I've filed a formal complaint with the FCC as "abandoned" or "war dialing" calls.

I received a recorded message on my voicemail, asking for a person with the same last name.  Calling a residence with a machine is a violation of the Telecommunications Consumer Privacy Act, punishable with a $500 judgment in favor of the consumer ($1500 if proven to be wilful).  They have also violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act by giving me this person's name and saying that she is the subject of debt collection activity.  Of course, then you can add in the fact that my number is on the FCC Do Not Call Registry to see the full extent of their disregard for any law or regulation.  If anyone has any information about this company - eg., registered agent for service - I think I will simply file a claim against them (TCPA permits a filing in your local Small Claims court)

They leave messages asking to speak to (phonetic spelling) "Blaira Blah". Really?! Who is that? Doesn't even sound like my name (or my husbands!).

Finally answered today and it said that if they had the wrong number for this person to push '9'. Guess I'll just have to wait and see if it works or not.

They have been calling us every ****ing day for the past 2 weeks and it's really getting old, especiallt as the person they are trying to contact doesn't exist at this #, which we've had over 25 years.

We're trying to figure out just who to report them to and plan to see if the state attorney general's office can help.
