THEY ARE FROM RBC CENTURA.

what i can tell from the call is that they sound like scammers asking for banking info account numbers

they left a message stating that they were from liberty bank; they used my last name (commonly used name) and said that someone has opened up a bank acct in my name...i believe this a scan.. the caller did not sound to confident of the name of the bank!!

They call and then hangup.I am calling RBC and going to complain.And reporting them to  DoNotCall.gov

It is RBC Bank credit card division.

they call, they hang up when I answer, I call back - call gets disconnected.  very very frustrating and should be considered harrassment!

They sat they are from RBC/Visa and ask 2 security questions.  We checked into it.  It is not a valid number of our bank or VISA.  DO Not give information to this number.

The call actually comes from 514-218-5555 and they said they were from RBC Bank US (in very broken english) and asked me to call 1-888-257-7156 back immediately.  I instead called the 1-800 number on the back of my client card and the bank reviewed my accounts, said there were no flags.  They asked for the number and will investigate it as a phishing/scam attempt.  

They also pointed out that when there is a security issue they always leave an incident number to quote back when you call, which these guys didn't do.

exact same think happened to me.  i'll be calling 800 from card or rbc website.

I received a call from this #.  Woman by the name of Carmen. said she was with RBC Georgia, knew my name & my husbands. Told me my husband had to contact her urgently. My husband phoned RBC & they had NOT called.  This is a scam, beware!

Not a scam --- this is collections for RBC Bank Visa (it may be collections for other banks as well)  --- if you call the number on the back of your visa, they will confirm that this is the number for collections

So just checked this is a legit RBC Bank number related to Credit Cards, not a scam.

I got this call yesterday  in Calgary and they left a msg saying I needed to call them back, but no reference as to why. Never got a chance to call back last night, but awakened this morning to a missed call from same number, but no msg left. I called the # from back of my card and they confirmed what most people here are saying: It is NOT an RBC number, credit card or collections anything, and not to be fooled! There was nothing going on with my account, no red flags, and not to worry. I called the # back later this morning just to see what they may have wanted, and it was answered by the very official recording stating that it was RBC and all agents were busy and that this call could be used for training purposes, blah, blah blah. Waited for about 10 minutes and nobody came on...think they're striking whilst the iron is hot when they get a live person on the other end??? Hope this helps...please pass this info on to other people!!

I called RBC this is not a legitimate number! they dont have any number registered like this! it is SCAM!

This is RBC US.  Calling RBC Canada might not give you a valid answer as far as whether it is a legit number.  I admit I was suspicious because it called twice with no-one on the other end (hang-up), but I had answered because the call display said "RBC".  Then the third time, someone was there and actually asked for my husband by name (that's unusual for a scam).  He wasn't home, so I had him check his RBC US Visa online before calling back, and it looked like there was a legitimate problem with the card (available balance was super low).  So he called the number back and sure enough, it was a legit call.

I live in Canada but am originally from the US, so when I moved I opened an RBC Royal Bank account AND an RBC US (Georgia) account so that I could move funds easily from the US to Canada & vice versa. I also have a Credit Card through RBC US (Georgia). If I'm late on a payment, this is the number that calls me, the number to call back is 855-272-1214. If you are receiving a call from this number and DO NOT have an RBC US credit card or banking whatsoever, just ignore it. If you do, the call is regarding your RBC US account. If you call to talk with RBC Royal Bank (Canada) they likely won't have any info because while they are both RBC, they do not have a shared system (I found this out when asking about credit report stuff).
