i had a message on my work phone from a james paterson saying he was calling from dallas county office.he said they droped some papers by my apt. last week,never got anything,he also said if i didn't get the papers i can call this number to work somthing out .the number is 1-888-266-1667

i know debt collector will lie.and any body can get my infomation and say thry are with a compony to get your personal info.

i don't know what else to say

I got numerous calls, work , mothers hone (she's 81)being harassed , my sons phone an the a neighbor in an area I no longer live. I didn't even associate with this neighbor, so how they even get their number. They said they were  Joseph kozlowski, with Scott an brown law firm, an I had only to five p.m. to all them back. This is ridiculous. Harassing my entire family.

I got a call stating I had until today to settle a bad check with an un-named law firm check fraud division by 5 pm today or I would be sued.  I called and asked the name of the firm and their address which they refused to give.  That is a good indicator it is a fraudlent call.  They claim the check was written by someone named Debbie Smith whom I never heard of and I'd be called as a witness.  I tried giving them the name of my law firm to accept service and they refused that as well.  How do we catch these people and put them out of business?

This number called my mothers phone looking for me giving a docket number and all this stuff about I wrote a bad check and if I call I can avoid going to court and read off a docket number and said a warrant will be issued but I never wrote a bad check its from a cash advance from 4 yrs ago he scared the crap out of my mom I want to know what can I do because in the state of Michigan criminal action for a cash advance is prohibited

I have a small local business man ..... WTF everyone should make sure the checks they issue are good !!! i have to pay 35bucks for any check that comes back ! PLUS , I lose out on the damn money !!! COME ON PEOPLE JUST PAY FOR WHAT YOU GET

My daughter received multiple phone calls from  Joseph kozlowski, with Scott an brown law firm, saying that i was facing criminal charges for check fraud from a payday loan in 2006 that i never paid. They called my Mother, Sister and friends. I called them back and explained that i never received any letters from them and i had no money to pay at this this time, that was about 3 months ago. Well yesterday 2 men went to my daughters house with a warrant for my arrest, they left this number 888-266-1667 said for me to call that number and they would dispatch someone out to pick me up and take me to jail! I have never heard of such a thing and i have yet to call. Has this happened to anyone else? I have a young daughter and i am a single mom, i am scared!

I have been getting waged garnished for almost a year now from this company and my professional business license was suspended for 3 years and and wish I had the opportunity to be able to pay this company back for what they agreed to accept as an out of court arrangement back in the day. You two can do with what you want to do but I would settle anything that they are calling me about only because now I am charged with theft and fraud and have to deal with this garnishment for alot more than if I only settled out of court with them. If you do not know a company that is calling you and do not feel they are legit, then you can go to http://www.dos.state.ny.us/corps/bus_entity_search.html  and search their Business Entity Name at any time. If they are listed as a company doing business then they are a true and real company. The company name for which you two are complaining about is Brown, Andrews, and Scott llc they are a large firm based out of NY and use an attorney network to be able to file suit upon you in any state. I would also check your local and state criminal check fraud laws and that is what you could face if found guilty in your state under penal code 609 for check fraud. Do as you two wish but you will lose in the long run and then have them say I told you so. Good luck. Before you complain on this site for anything about an agency I would consider who and what I owe then pay it back. Payday loans are no joke when taken to court upon. You two will eventually find out as I believe both of you are ignoring the debt and them. This is no longer collections and if they have your case then they will eventually get you to pay. If it is with them or in the courts hands either way you will have to eventually pay their debts. Do the right thing and do research but do not hesitate to make an arrangement with them because they will file for suit and then you have no choice but to pay and it will be at a much higher price. Hope this helped the two of you out. If not they will see you in court eventually as it happened to me.

The first guy called my son, my mother (shes 81 yrs old) my employeer, an neighbors housephone(a number i have never known) a neighbor that i just say hi and bye to. They have harrassed everyone I know. They sound so believeable and really frighten you. I CALLED THE NUMBER MY FAMILY GAVE ME. 888-266-1667 / 888-588-3429 / 866-599-5783 / 615-222-2342 all who want you to leave a message. I called back the 866-599-5783 and got Anthony Cartell, who said it was from and online payday loan (something i have never done) back in 2007. He said it was for 450.00 and now its 840.00 , but you can settle out of court for 500.00, but you only have two hours to do so. I asked the name of the company he said ACS,  I asked were they were located, he said here in my town. I told him I never did such a thing , he said he could only talk to me if i wanted to resolve this matter out of court. I asked were to send a payment if I chose to do so, he said they only take credit or debit cards. I explained Iwasn't comfortable with either. He told me to go to my local walmart and buy a prepaid card and call him back , but I only had now, less than 2 hrs or a prossesor would be serving me papers to appear in court. The call ended , but they have called everyday since , leaving the same message , as if they never talked to me. How do you stop this? this is really borthering my family and especially my 81 yr old mother.

Received harrassing calls from this number saying that "this is an official notification of legal process from Brown and Scott our office has received an afidavit of check fraud listed to the ss number to an individual at this address.... "
So I called them back and could not get a live person. So I left a message.
THIS IS FRAUD. If they have the phone number then they have the address. But they did not say a name. So they are hoping to get someone to give them their ss number.

I am getting harrassing calls from this number and when i try to call them back the answering options just loop and you cant get a person. I have never wrote a bad check in my life and they dont say a persons name only that some one that they have the ss number of someone who lives here. I am worried about id theft.

I received a call yesterday ftom my stepmom saying that these people called. I got extension number 104 with a name of Ms. Cain to taln to. They said I wrote a payday loan back in 2007, which I did along with a few other bad checks that were paid off. I had thought that this one was too. The lady told me that if I could get $693 in 24 hours that nothing would be filed and all charges be dropped. Of course being a single mom and coming from a family that doesn't have much money I couldn't. I was told to call her back by noon. I called three times since 11:30 and the lady has not answered the phone nor returned my call. What does a person do? I'm scared. I don't want to go to jail over something like this. I can only hope towait for one of these attorneys to call me back. And I do believe there is a statute over how long they have to file something to get their money from a bad check. This is a bit rediculus. Give a person one day to pay something and threaten them while they're at it.

I received several voice messages left on my answering machine at my office which I have saved. The jist makes it sound like some governmental official will prosecute me if I do not give them certain information. I called the number left and talked to two representatives that refused to give me the name of their company and were extremely rude. I would be glad to help get this form of debt collection tactic prosecuted by the FTC or other appropriate governmental agency. Oh, BTY, I was not even the person they were looking for!!
