Constantly calls and leaves a voice message in a stern voice that says to contact another number for further details. This person doesn't tell his name nor the place of business that he is representing.

This is a debt collector. They have lots of 888 numbers and change them weekly. They call you with messages about court actions, special arbiteration etc. Sometimes they say you are a person of interest in a law suit.  
Do not talk to them. Do not answer their calls. Post their harrasment on this site for all to see.

So they have been calling me saying I committed fraud and I was going to suffer criminal prosecution. Well, I finally filed for bankruptcy because they conveniently didn't have any documentation. And I have been under a lot of financial problems lately. So they called me again, after advising them I was filing, I informed them of the case number and all that, they are still trying to say, WELL I NEED TO TALK TO OUR ATTORNEY AND LOOK AT YOUR STATE LAWS BECAUSE WE STILL HAVE RIGHTS?

I just laughed and responded, I filed for bankruptcy, a rejected EFT is not fraud, and it is an unsecured debt. Guess what, no.

Just report their calls to your local attorney general's office.

This number keeps calling and leaves a message and a number to call by a certain time saying I must call by the time stated to show that I am cooperating with them along with inuendos that if I do not call I could face repercussions.

I've been called twice with an automated message. They don't even say who it is or acknowledge my name. I have no debt or claims against me. Scary. Don't call people like this back!!!

I was called twice today from this number and left messages by a man who did not identify himself, his business or refer to me by name.
He said there were serious allegations against me & I had until 6pm this evening to call him back so that he could confirm that I was cooperating to authorities.
I have no intention of returning his call I figured this was a scam....
These ppl that get your number call & lie to try & scare ppl into calling them back need to be prosecuted...
I intend to report them to whoever I need to!
What a lot of people do not realize is....there are websites that provide information to anyone who has access to the Internet all they need is....your name & the State you're from they can find out, at no cost personal info about you that you don't want everyone to know like your cell number & address etc....and for .99 cents to $39 they have access to everything from....if youve ever filed bankruptcy or committed a crime to if you have ever been married before to what your relatives names are etc....this should be illegal!!!  It is unbelievable, But so far no one is doing anything about it!





But no one seems to know or care!

I just got the exact same message today.. It is amazing that they won't even leave a name or company name...cowards!! They think they can scare us into calling. I called back the number just to get the company and it said "office of state debt mgt and arbitration services". PLEASE...give me a break. I totally agree with you regarding our info out there. It is kinda freaky how people have access to our lives and nothing is getting done. Well, I do care...Good luck!

DO NOT CALL THEM!!! THEY ARE FRAUDS. They are just trying to scare you! They will put lies out there. It happened to my husband. They were telling him that they had pictures of him taking out a loan at a bank and writing a bad check. The thing is he wasn't even at that bank at that time...They are liars

My brother who lives in a different state than me received a call from this number today.  The caller, named James Johnson, posed as an FBI Agent saying there is a warrant for my arrest for forging a 1200.00 check one year ago.  He left this number for me to call and make a payment or I'd be picked up and arrested.  I checked the FBI website and here is a link to these scams, and this is an official FBI website.

I had to file an official report.  This man told my brother that I would spend time in a federal penitentiary if I didn't come up with the money.  I've never written a $1200. check in my life.

Had a man who said his name was Michael Murphy and he was a detective with Yakima county and that I had to go to court today because I had taken out a loan and never payed it back so I was being charged with check fraud but he refused to give me his badge number told me all he could give me was his name and number to call him back within 48hrs he did not even know I had moved

This man left me a couple of messages. The latest one is today. He states I have until 6pm to respond to him to show that I am not ignoring this "very serious matter" and I need to show I have been "compliant with his investigation". Please! I have no credit cards, no student or personal loans, no outstanding liens on my property. What investigation? I have no intention of calling back. I will be forwarding this information to the attorney general, local law enforcement and the mayor's office in my area.  I hope no one falls victim to this obvious scam.

I too came home from a family vacation to the same message. The person spoke in such a distorted, and fast manner, that I had to listen to it three times before I could even understand what the heck he was saying. There should be a way to stop calls like this!!

Initial call was from a Jonathan Tapia who called my mothers home phone asking about me and I need to call him back at 716-748-6237, I called this person back left a voicemail because the way he spoke had my mother concerned about what was going on. He calls back with a blocked number saying he's calling about a payday loan dating back to 2008, that I needed to payoff by the end of the month, I told him I don't know what your talking about and hung up. 10 mins later I get a call from a Michael Murphy who leaves a voicemail saying I need to call back and give my bank info for payment. I called back and ask what loan company this is from and he says TL ventures, never heard of or did any business with them. What do u suggest I do?

Constantly calls and makes false statements about being with law enforcement.

My ex-husband got these calls - and today - not knowing who he was or anything SHE claimed that I had committed fraud and the we were playing a scam and that it was for some short term loan... didn't give a company name, amount or anything just the 888-266-4194.  He had these calls for about a week - tried to call them back and never got anything...  What a hoax - they're breaking the law talking to anyone else besides the individual that owes the amount - IF THERE TRULY IS ONE.  I haven't borrowed any money from anyone in over 3 years and it's paid... so who knows where these folks come up with their stories.  What a HOAX!!!  Ignore them... call them - tell them do not call you again and turn them over to the your state attornies office.

These people are scammers!!!!!!!!! I told them if they keep calling me back that I was going to take action! So they lady said "Take action [***]" and hung up... Well that was big mistake now they just keep calling more and from twenty million different numbers! Don't answer only makes it worse... I don't know how the hell these people can get away with HARASSING people but it's pretty F***ed up!

Got a call from this number today, this person with a "stern" voice left a partial message on my voice
mail, it sounded like the recording was already started when voice mail picked it up.  Said connected a phone number with address, I have to call back immediately there was some fraud investigations on some checks and I needed to call and talk to representative which would clear this up and they could report back I was being cooperative....good grief they don't even say who they are representing and if you call them back you step into a pile of sh--!

This idiot just "pranked" me today as well.  He called my job and told my boss that he was an ivestigator from the fire department and needed to come and search the facility for weapons; he also stated that he was going to arrest me for the weapons.  But he left a totally  different on my phone.  Because of my knowledge with the scam that's arising with the pay day loans, I knew this was another fraud case.  Just recently had an interaction with the middle eastern scammers.  Well to make a long story short, I contacted the attorney state general office in my state and he called these guys to delete my number out of their system.  But "Michael Murphy" was still calling my phone  threatening to serve me with papers.  I told him to serve them and that I wll be at home waiting for them to come.  I also informed him that I was calling the attorney's state general office on the three way and he hung up in my face.

There are many who do because they are not aware of this scam, but find out afterwards after giving money to these idiots.
