BCR is the name of the company using the number they refuse to listen to the fact that the person they want does not live here

Recording that says to call 888-276-8572. There was message on my voice mail that gave the hours of Mon-Fri, however, they called me on a Sunday.  I called & left a message on the recorder & advised them to not call my home again or I was going to file a complaint.  If they were looking for, gave the names, they were not in my household.

I have received this call everyday for the last 6 months. I refuse to call a recording since there are so many scams out there. I know that they are trying to reach the deadbeats who had my phone number before. For the last four years I have had calls looking for the deadbeats who had this phone number from differebt debt collection agencies. I want to report them, since I have been on the DO NOT CALL LIST!! Since I moved in. What is my recourse.
How is they are able to use an Auto Dialer at this day and age with Do Not Call List in effect. I am so frustrated.
Please advise anyone.

I too have been receiving calls every day from BCR . If they can't tell me who they are or what they want I refuse to call them. If you know what its about please let me know.

I called my phone company and put a block on the phone number that's calling. If it works, I let you all know.

I have been receiving these calls for 2 weeks.  Arizona law prohibites "prerecorded messages without prior consent".  I have had my phone number since May 2007 and all I get is collection agencies for other people that are using my phone number.

How can I get them to stop. 888-276-8572 BCR calls almost every day. No message regarding what the call is about or who it is for. They leave a message even when they are closed and unavailable !! What's up with that ?? I too refuse to return a call that has left no imformation. I plan on having the phone company block them. Hope it works.

BCR is a nation wide collection agency. They have tried to contact me from multiple phone numbers. i.e. 202-607-2732 & 1-800-831-7311 have been the most recent. They want me to call 1-888-276-8572. This tells me that your blocking a specific number will not work. It's like trying to block a sender on "Outlook". If they have multiple addresses they'll still get the e-mail to you on your computer. I told BCR to contact my attorney, gave them his number, and if they call again I'll take them to court. If you are on the "do not call" list, they need to use the mail service..... Good luck to you all.

BCR has been calling pretty frequently for the past few weeks.
My caller ID seems to show different numbers, but the number they leave is 1-888-276-8572


Has anyone had any success in getting this caller to stop?

this number from BCR 866-364-9836 left a message for us to call another number 888-276-8572 on a Sunday when their hours of operation are M-F CST 8-5pm. What gives. They had called another time we answered it was a totally different person what gives. We both have good credit. There is also a cell number from DC 202-607-2731 that comes up on the caller ID.

I applied for a business number 2 years ago and got some dead beats number. I got calls from everyone. After telling them all this was a new number for me I finally gave up and got a new number. Thoes idiots at BCR wrote down the name of my company and now they call me all the time at my new business number. I think someone could shut them down. I think I'll give out there numbers to every scam I can find. Try to get there Email and bombard them with Emails. Make their lives miserable.

I hate them.  I will probably need to change my phone number.  This is ridiculous.

My wife and I have credit scores over 800.  This is clearly not for us.  I received at least one call per day since january.

BCR Collection Agency calls the 973-243-0470 on a daily basis and I am not the person they are looking for.  Please stop the calls!

BCR has been calling my mom's number for too long.  Since they called while I was here today, I called them back.

1st Attempt:
"CSR" Margaret, listens for about 20 seconds before hanging up on me since I requested to be removed.

Ok, I like a challenge.

2nd Attempt:
"CSR" Male (Ben, I think): Listens and chuckles when I say what Margaret did.  I then repeat the story and he hangs up.

Now I'm mad.

3rd Attempt:
"CSR" Female: Asks if I can be placed on hold.  I politely say, "No."  She asks to call me back.  Again I reply, "No."  I then say to transfer me to someone who is available.  I hear her set the phone down and continue talking with someone on another line.  WTF!  I politely wait, and she comes back.  The instant I hear her start to speak I say, "So you put me on hold anyways?"  She apologized for having to operate two lines at the same time.  Whatever...  After talking with her for a few moments she said that the number had been removed by the first CSR and that it would take 1 to 2 days to be removed from the auto-dialer.  I'm not sure if I believe her, but we'll find out in due time.

Now I feel better, but I'm still skeptical.

As many on this thread, I too have been harrassed by the BCR Ba$%*^$( for the past month. I have called and left a message on numerous ocassions. I have just submitted complaints to the BBB, New York State Attorney General, FTC and getting ready to submit a complaint to the Consumber Protection Board. I also have found another way to fight back. If the BCR Ba*$(%^ are calling you everyday, then just keep calling them back at their 1-888-276-8572 number and don't even give them a chance to talk. Just say in a stern voice "Do not ever call XXX-XXX-XXX ever again!" and hang up. Then repeat this 9 more times. Do this every day 7 days a week at varying hours of the day just like they do. I started doing this today. I will continue to do this until they stop. I got 2 operators that were women, 1 man (who chuckled at my words) and 2 answering machines. I will make the rest of the calls later. I'll keep this thread informed of my progress.

I have been receiving phone calls from BCR every day for about a month now.  This phone is an extension from my sister's name, who happens to have an EXCELLENT credit score, and my name isn't associated with this number in any way, shape or form.  How can I get these idiots to stop calling me?

I receive calls from BCR on a constant basis.  If I answer the phone there is a recording telling me to call--------.  If I don't answer, they leave a message.  Whatever they want, it is not at this phone number.  My husband tried to return the call and said it seemed like some kind of exchange and he was afraid we'd get an astonomical phone bill from overseas or something, so he hung up.

automated caller tells me to call 1-888-276-8572 from BCR. I have not yet, nor will I.

Since picking up a landline line from AT&T this July we've gotten daily phone calls and messages from BCR (various numbers calling 202-607-2731; 9522591101) asking us to call back 1-888-276-8572 M-F from 8-5. When I answered the phone today to ask why they were calling - they hung up on me.  What kind of buisiness is this. If they were indeed a debt collection agency, you would think they'd jump at the opportunity to speak with the person they've been leaving messages for for 4 months but instead they hung up. This is definitely harrasment and should not be tolerated.   How is it possible that you can have this number of complaints on one page about the same company and no solution yet?

The local number may show up on your caller ID differently from those listed here.  But the return number (if left) will be 888-276-8572.  The company is BCR, which is a collection service/agency.  Your number has been listed at some point when an account was opened.  The owner of the account allegedly owes money and it has been turned over to collections ... specifically to BCR.

This is not a call for solicitation and therefore is not governed by the "Do Not Call" list.  The Do-Not-Call list actually does work with the exception of those calling offering a "Vacation Package" where they say you purchased one in the past and have not used it.  That is the angle they use to "avoid" the do-not-call rules, but in fact you can go after them.  They are usually 3rd party "sweat shops" that the actual vacation company doesn't realize has been hired on their behalf.  If you get the REAL company name and call their marketing department ... those calls will stop!

If you truly do NOT owe money and/or are not the party they are looking for you should talk with them and give them the evidence that your number was falsely listed or that you have nothing to do with the delinquent account.  They will then move on to find the actual party they are trying to collect from.
