- Don't be fooled| 2 repliesI got a call from that number as a message left on my phone The person stating he is a processor that didn't have a chance to meet with me one on one so he's coming with the authorities to either my place of employment or my residence to serve me papers. He said call that 888 number and speak to the plantiff if I want more information and use the reference number he left. He should have left a company name. I don't answer to weirdoos.
- ?? replies to Don't be fooled| 1 replyI received the same message today and then I spoke to a Monique Thoma and they said I had to call 888-296-2085 to speak to the plantiff to rectify the complaint??? Monique said she was with the State and she is about to process acourt order???
- jr cat replies to ??Same thing happened to me Friday. Received a msg from Mia who was a processor representing the state (she didn't say what state) who was going to serve me with papers at my residence or place of business with the proper authorities for fraudulent check charges. I needed to call 888-296-2086 to speak with the plaintiff to handle this matter. I called them - they had all my info - asked if I had ever taken out a loan with loan.com (I have not). When I asked for their business address to mail them some paperwork because my identity had been stolen before - he (Ted White) would NOT give it to me - he said that I could e-mail it to them at customerservice@nationwidecredit.biz. That is the only way they handle correspondence. They answer the phone as NCS - but when I pressed for what the letters stand for he said it was Nationwide Credit Services. They even called my parents and used a previous name in the voice-mail! I was scared to death at first - I have never so much as had a speeding ticket!
- tonigateWell, they must either have more than one number, or they changed it to another one. I got a call, same exact thing, process server from "the state", and call this number. My number was 866-258-7754, and I was told they would be serving me with papers for a bad check that I had written. Good luck proving that! I work for an attorney, asked them to fax me any papers they had proving this claim, and of course, they couldn't do it. Just said they would serve me. Bring it on! Idiots.

- ddr| 1 replyI got the same call. They called me at work. Threatening to show up at my work with local authorities in 30 minutes. They gave some of my personal information to 2 different people who answered the phone at work. I asked for proof of debt or a settlement agreement --something in writing, and I was told their fax machine was down and they couldn't do that. Has anyone ever had the "authorities" actually show up? Better Business Bureau has tried to mail them stuff and had it returned as "undeliverable".

- lessons learned replies to ddrThey won't show up because process servers DO NOT call before serving papers. Depending on your state, they must first issue demand letters with a specific period of time, which of course you then can respond to dispute and ask for validity of claim. Secondly they must file an action and again, would not forewarn you of this since matters below 1500-2000 in most states are deemed small claims. So if they do file and then give you a phone call before serving, you can then call the county court clerk and see if any action has been filed against you. Lastly, they are verbal bullies and you should invite them to serve you, ask them for your name as your gated community guards will need to know this to allow them in and lastly check into your states licensed debt collection agencies and it they are not listed, then file a complaint to your states attorney general. I have had ID thief going on now for 7 years and the debt collectors just sell my supposed account from one tier to another. The lower the tier and if the statue of limitation is nearing, (in TX statue is 4 years on debt), then the more aggressive they will become. BE KIND, BE NICE and tell them to come on over - but alas they never will - you see they are cowardly BULLIES.
- big papaThe number that called me was 1-877-324-6223. I called our state police post and gave them their name, number, and p.o. box, then blocked them from my number.
