Caller was Henry Scott, he said I had received a payday loan and never paid it back.  I asked him waht company this was, he replied US Cash Advance. When I tried to question him he was rude and hung up on me.  I called back to ask him for a copy of of the document he had on file for me.  He then bacame angry and told me he did not have to prove anything to me and he was taking me to court.  I went home and researched my bank statements proving he was lying.

Same thing happened to us. They called repeatedly and hung up on my wife. Then told her all this information about some payday loan. When I tried calling them back and asking for their information they refused to give anything except that it was from US Cash Advance and they were a legal department. The financial infraction Division is what they said they were. BOGUS!

If you are contacted by these crooks, you can require THEM to send you WRITTEN PROOF of the debt they claim you have.  Make the request in writing, at the same time you can make a written demand that they cease and desist all phone calls.

DO NOT assist these clowns in harvesting phone numbers and email addresses. Consumers who know their LEGAL RIGHTS are a bill collectors worst nightmare. Getting calls "plenty of times in couple of minutes" is effing HARASSMENT, fight back, you DO NOT have to put up with these crooks illegal behavior. Lisa is a LIAR like the rest of them.

If the debt is valid, pay the original creditor, not these scumbags.

    Fed Up
Mr. Martin Lewis with a heavy Indian Accent called my office phone. Saying I owed a loan. He threatened me, called me a criminal, and said he was going to tell my supervisor and everyone on my job I owed money and he was going to get me fired. He would not give me any of HIS information. So I called his bluff and transfered him to my actual supervisors, he then threatened them and said he was going to call me 3000 times in a row!!!! And he certainly tried by calling me so much I had to send him straight to my voice mail. He left messages saying "Good Luck" "God Help Me!" My company then researched the company on the internet and saw that it was a scam, and that saved me and proved that he was a liar. They actually started calling our switchboard to tie up all of our lines at one time! It was not until I told him that I was looking at HIS SCAM INFO on the internet and that I knew it was an Indian Outsourcing scheme and I was going to report HIM to the FBI that he finally stopped calling. These people are crazy and their goal is to get your money!!! Don't give them one dime!!!!!! They refuse to give you any info, that in itself is proof they are crazy. My company has kept all 20 messages that they left and has filed a report with HPD AND our local FBI AGENCY.

    Lisa,
Give it up! You are a scam and everyone knows it. Funny how you are using the same template as Gary, Mike and Henry. And neither one of you can speak proper english. What kind of Lawyer/ Law Firm/ collector can't speak english?
You are breaking federeal laws, and we are onto you. Think about this, as soon as you get caught you will be paying us and not us you.
The law is on our side and not yours.

OK, "Lisa, "Mike", "Stephen" (it doesn't really matter WHO you are, anymore): The BBB (of whom you CLAIM to be a member of), has issued a NATIONAL news alert, officially exposing your CRIMINAL organization for what it is: A full-blown SCAM:

Full release from the Better Business Bureau:

Widespread Harassment from Phony Debt Collectors Raises Concerns of Mass Data Breach, Warns BBB Scammers may have Social Security and bank account numbers, home addresses and employer information

Chicago, IL – August 5, 2009 – The Better Business Bureau is issuing an alert about phony debt collectors that are calling consumers nationwide and claiming that they have defaulted on a payday loan and will be arrested if they don’t pay immediately. Claiming to be lawyers, the scammers say they are with the “Financial Accountability Association” or the “Federal Legislation of Unsecured Loans” and are equipped with a disconcerting amount of personal information about their potential victims.

“Because the scammers have so much information about potential victims, the BBB is concerned that this may be the result of a data breach,” said Steve J. Bernas, president & CEO of the Better Business Bureau serving Chicago and Northern Illinois. “Thousands of people may have had their personal information compromised, and given the scammers’ tactics, it appears that those who have previously used payday loan services could be particularly at risk.”

According to reports received by the BBB and posted online, the scammers accuse the victim of defaulting on a payday loan and claim they are being sued. The phony debt collector threatens that, if the victim doesn’t pay as much as $1,000 immediately via wire or by providing bank account or credit card numbers, he or she will be arrested and extradited to California within the hour to stand trial. The scammers often may have the victim’s Social Security, old bank account numbers or driver’s license numbers as well as home addresses, employer information and even the names of personal friends and professional references.

The BBB offers the following advice to consumers if they receive a suspicious telephone call about an outstanding debt:
    * Ask the debt collector to provide official documentation in writing which substantiates the debt.
    * Do not provide or confirm any bank account, credit card or other personal information over the phone until you have confirmed the legitimacy of the call.
    * Review recent copies of your credit reports to ensure that the alleged debt is not affecting your credit. Consumers can do this for free once every 12 months, and can find more information here: http://www.ftc.gov/freereports
    * Under the Federal Trade Commission's Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, debt collectors may not harass, oppress, or abuse any person while attempting to collect a debt.
    * A debtor may be contacted between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. only and can be contacted at work unless instructed not to.
    * File a complaint with the FTC online if the caller is abusive, uses threats or otherwise violates federal telemarketing laws.
    * File a complaint with BBB online at www.bbb.org if you believe a debt collector is trying to scam you.

I get so many call from +0000 and leaving me voice mails.  A guy name Dan Jacobs called the first time around claiming that I have to go to court the next day at 830am.  Or I could pay $340 and it will be cleared. So when I asked him which company supposedly that I didn't  pay to the payday loan company, he stated that, "ma'am, i don't know which company because there is court. I hang up at him and he called again and threaten me that i have to pay or go to court.  so i told him ill pay which i wouldn't for the company i have never heard of and after hour or so he called one of my friend saying that i need to call him.  so the next day the guy called me twice and left me messages and called again later on as well.  This is a scam company.

Another indication that these people are frauds is the fact that the same guy who swore I'd be going to jail for an unpaid payday loan called me not two weeks later offering debt consolidation, and now that I think about it they had also pestered me non stop before to GET a payday loan.

I got the same calls from these damn ppl last week. They called my job first and wouldnt stop (i am a caregiver in my clients home by the way) and my. Coworker knew it was a scam right away. She told them several times to stop calling there and to call me directly on my cell. They continued to call more and more until they stopped answering the phone. They finally then called me on my cell and i asked them what did they want and why were they calling my job. They stated the same thing as the rest of these posts that i had taken out a payday loan from US Cash Advance and that i hadent paid it back. They said that it was supposedly deposited into my bank acct in 2007 and i knew that was a lie right there bcuz i wasnt even with that bank in 2007!!!  He then put me on hold and changed the date to sometime in 2009 this year....LIARS. then he started rambling about how he knew all my info and SSN birthdate, drivers license number and people that i listed as references.. I guess that was supposed to scare me into paying him but yea right... He started yelling and then said i better get a lawyer cuz i was gonna b sued and then hung up the phone on me. I then typed in the number that they had given my coworker to call them back and got this page...THANK U SO MUCH FOR THE ADVICE!!! They then called me back to back 12 times and i finally picked up and told them that they were a scam and i had called ky local FBI and police and was taping the calls...he told me that i would b recieving a call about some court date within the hour....NEVER HEARD FROM THEM SINCE....im so glad for ur guys help cuz they probably would still b calling me. Idk how they got all my info but now i know fhat i need to watch what type of info i disclose on the internet....

Today I received a call from Albert Smith from a Legal Affidavit Company he stated that I owed 563.00 for a payday loan that I took out from Us Cash Advance on Dec 07. I told him I did not have a loan from this company and he then rattled off my SSN, my bank account number, my address, my friends names ect...  I knew better so I told him that I needed something in writing showing that I owed this debt.  He said "you know that you owe it just pay it" I told him that in the state of Illinois you can't change more than 15.50 per hundred on a pay day loans and he was trying to charge 263.oo more than the loan.  "He said you are a piece of crap you think you are smart well you are stupid". "You think that you can just get royalty without paying back" "I will have you put in jail on fraud and deceptive practices charges". I asked him for the name of his company again and his phone number that I will not just give him my credit card number without verifying with US Cash Advance that I owe this money. And he would not give it to me.  He said that he was going to have 50 people call me 50 times a day until I paid.  I then told him that he was violating the Fair Dept Collection Practices Act.  "He said I don't care what you going to do".  I then hung up on him and he has called me probably 100 times and every time he will not let me speak.  All he says is "You going to pay or not" over and over again. I believe that this same company called my several months ago claiming that I owed money to another company.  That time they said their name was National Affidavit Processing center and he was an attorney and if I did not pay that he would be on my doorstep in an hour.  He also said to me "You are a [***]" over and over.  They finally stopped calling.
I did call US Cash Advance and they do not lend money over the internet.  They have had quite a few calls and have actually drafted a letter to send to people that shows that you owe no money to them. They also have filed several claims with the Federal Trade Commission as well.  Good luck everyone.  So far they have not called in the last hour YEAH !!!!

they called my husband at work many many times over the last two days and threatened him by calling his HQ and told my husband his wages would be garnished, and the company is sueing him civily for more than $3000.
he would never give my husband a call back #, and address, or how much we owed. the phone calls were about the same as all the ones listed here. but we knew better then to give out info. he also asked for my husbands address, he should have that if we owe $$! my husband is pushed to the limit, he has disrupted my husbands job, and we hope he does not lose his job over this. I suggested we call the FTC and file a report with the info we have, I believe we have a # from caller id. and company name. this guy is disruptive and persistant. refused to send us any writen documentation till he told my husband he would be sued and his wages garnished-THAT he will send paperwork. He doesnt give up, if you tell him you are monitoring his call, he tells you HIS call is FEDERALLY monitored. but he does mess up his story day to day. one day it was his manager you were talking to the next it was his lawyer that couldnt come to the phone...???
any ideas to try to get him to stop calling? I think the store called the police today even, not sure what happened with that. it is a retail store, they cannot have this happening.
