I just got a call... checked here because I wanted to know who it was. First time 800notes didn't have the answer :/

SCAM PEOPLE!! They called asking me by my name and then said for quality assurance purposes what is your social security number? BEWARE!!

Call from that number saying I had a call from __________no name________ and if I want to accept press 1. I suspect if you press 1 you will be charged money per minute for........what?? It is a scam for sure. They keep calling me daily.

I continue to get calls from this number. It's been several weeks now. Sometimes they hang up, sometimes they talk to us. Claim to be a personal business matter and need social security number. Has been a male or female caller. They even give you a name at times. SCAM!

4th call from this unidentified toll number since 19 Jun 2013- I have all toll area codes blocked from ever ringing my phone. I purchased and use a DIGITONE Call Blocker to block all unwanted area codes from ringing.  
Filed complaints with FCC and FTC to help track this SCAM callers.

This person called twice with a number listing as 518-282-4379. Left no voicemail then called again and asked for my name (pronounced terribly wrong) and told him she was not in. He gave me his name of  J___ P___ which looks hispanic/latin and told me to call this number: 888-296-7476 and could not release any more information than that. Seeing this it may be a scam? I put my number on a list of not getting such calls so it makes me nervous if I'm getting a call for something else but completely unaware of?

Received a call from 888-296-7476.  I did NOT answer (Thankfully).  They left no message.  Thanks for the info, I will alert others in this house.  I also will report them, but I'm sure it will do no more good than any of the others I have reported to the Do Not Call registry.

This number called my phone and hung up when I answered.  I called from a phone that does NOT allow incoming calls to see WHO it was.  The recording I received stated they were calling from Van Rue Credit Corporation.

I have a new phone number and have no affiliation with this company or any debt from any of these industries so I politely BLOCKED this number.  Thank goodness for AT&T.

Got a call from this number saying it was a personal collection matter.  Asked for the last 4 digits of my phone number.  Then asked if the birthdate he has was correct.  2 mintues before I got a call from a woman asking for a person who had my first name & my mother's maiden name!  Creepy

I called the number (gasp*) and was put through to someone without an accent, definitely in the states.   www.vanru.com is the company and it turned out they were looking for someone who had the number long before I got it.  The clerk was very nice.

they call me a min ago and they ask me is john and my last name was there I said who is this they said I need to talk to john I said what is this about they said is john there I said this is john and then ask me about my ssi would I ask them is this for sallie mae and they told me they could not give me that information I hung up on there faces block this number from your phone people

Received the call, phone did not ring due to privacy settings, but got notice of voicemail. Message was a man breathing heavily into the phone then muttered "dang". If this were legit they would have left a message. A real one.

Has called twice in two days. Caller ID blocked ("NOT PROVIDED"). The obviously taped message (with my name 'inserted') identifies them as the "Dan-Woo Credit Corporation," (sounds Asian), and made care to pronounce my first and last name with emphasis four times over its length (to get my attention, I presume). The message also said, "This is an attempt to collect a debt by a dept collection agency." Yeah, right! It is an attempt to get me to call back (the number was also announced several times). If it were a legitimate agency, surely they would attempt to contact me via first-class mail, and would not block the Caller ID.

I received similar call.

Numerous calls from this number at all times of the day and evening.Won't leave message, won't identify themselves.
Telephone harassment for sure. Sick of it.

They have called constantly for several months - I refuse to get involved. Have not had any credit for 15 years other than 2 cc's that are regularly paid. Nothing, lived here for 24ish years. Paid for condo, paid for cars for 26 years, no financing of anything. How do I make this stop? Wouldn't one expect notification by mail first?

Got this call asking for a John Asher caller was a male informed they had wrong number. This is the number off my caller ID 888-296-7476

I got a call on my prepaid cell phone, any call without a CallerID I will not spend my precious time on it.
