Per caller ID, received a call from this number on 2/26/09 @ 5:08 PM, no voice mail message left.

Per caller id: 'Not Provided', called 4 times yesterday (2/25/09) at 4:19pm, 5:18pm, 6:20pm, 7:12pm, and once today (2/26/09) at 4:24pm. Would not say who it was calling, or leave a message - only asked for my father, and when we said he was unavailable, they said they would try back later. Only it was an hour later, and then an hour after that, and so on.
When they called today and asked if it was the same person who called 4 times the day before in 4 hours, they hung up without saying anything.
Luckily we haven't heard back from them today.

This is a charity called "Disabled Veterans Services". I have NOT checked them out to see if they are legit.  - JR

I have joined the club with multiple calls what is up with the GOVERNENT
no call list have reported a lot, but still keep calling.

The person who called here was extremely rude - yes! he said that he was a charity for disabled vets - however, having recently been in a car accident and unable to work - therefore no paycheck - I am unable to give at this time - his response was that these vets had life changing disabilities. This man proceeded to speak over the top of me everytime I tried to explain- I whole heartedly support our troops and will do all i can to support them financially - however, i can't do that right now - and i do not appreciate being bullied into giving. Received 4 calls 9/9/09 from 888-296-8044. Each time there was noone on the line. Must be a robot caller. This is very annoying.

They call every other day and do not leave a message. They can kiss my ... in the middle of five points. The do not call list is BS. The government is incapable of running anything; we should all know this by now.

They call in evening around 9:00p.m. very annoying!! I never answer & they
don't leave a message! Want it to stop!

I've received several calls, and they can be very rude.... Unfortunately non profit organizations are not included on the do-not-call list....

11/3/2009 - called at 10 a.m. - don't have call ID or else I would not have answered the phone - nobody there.

I've been receiving these calls since early October.  They call at least once a day if not more! I always let the answering machine get the call, and they NEVER leave a message.  I'm on the Do Not Call List, however this does not seem to work.

Received a call "Unavailable" at 8:34 AM 12/29/09.  Woman said "hello" after I answered and disconnected.  I have received calls in the past soliciting for "disabled vets" and when I replied that I give to DAV the male caller at that time said "hold on for a minute" and then proceeded to bash DAV which irritated me so I just let him flap his lips until I dial toned him.  The caller was part of the same fundraiser for cancer groups and others and their take for their costs is highly unreasonable--the State's Attorney's Office in Maryland filled me in on that information.

I'm in the same boat as the rest of you, it appears. Multiple calls, every day. I have caller ID, so I never answer. What recourse do we have? Does anyone know? How can we make then stop?

"Unavailable" on my caller-id box is sufficient grounds for me to NOT pick-up.  If it is important they'll leave a message.  If it is simply ANOTHER somebody who has organized a fraudulent "charity," they'll find some sucker at a different number.

Called at 8.30, doesn't say anything if you don't.

I received a call at 9:30 AM from a woman who knew my name so it's definitely a list purchased from one of the purchases I have made in the past.  They identified themselves as a support group for disabled vets.  Typically, these are the worst of the charitiies as they give a tiny percentage to the vets and keep almost all of the funds for themselves.  I poilitely told them that my father was a disabled vet and I only give to the DAV because I know that organization well.  I asked her to take me off the list.  She said OK and hung up.  I'm sure they will call again under another front company.  The owner of this company is a SCAM ARTIST.
