This number belongs to BMW's Insurance Validation Dept.

The caller does not identify themselves nor are they actually employed by BMW. They are a shady firm that collects data. They will not remove you from their Call lists even if you are on the DNC Registry. The first thing they asked me for was my full name and SSN. Then they go in to a spcheil about my BMW - I drive a Cadillac! They quickly change it to Cadillac and say they need my insurance info...

Automated message requesting my car insurance to be faxed to them

Just received a call asking for an updated insurance certificate on our company's BMW.  I thought it sounded shady, so I asked if I could call them back.  Then I called the phone number in our lease file for BMW.  They confirmed that the person who called me does represent BMW.

got a call asking me to send in proof of coverage.   I told them the dealer has my insurance coverage and they can call them, they said they dont deal with the dealer. I asked if they are a part of BMW and they said that they were the Insurance Service Center.  I told them id just wait for a letter from BMW.  The lady was polite at least.

No, they do not work for BMW and are not a part of BMW.
