Got a call this afternoon.  No message left..

Unrecognized number called and left no message.

Called and left no message, called the number back and it didn't tell me the name of the business.

It's nissan recall department was trying to remind me of the recall on my car.

Received called; answered; asked for a certain name; no one here by that name; asked of someone owned a (year?) of Ford Explorer - NOPE

Calls repeatedly. No message.  When I call back no business name is mentioned.  Shady

Received a call from this number in regards to a 2006 Toyota Rav4 recall, the caller was cordial when I informed them we sold the vehicle; they thanked me for the update and hung up..

Call from a "recall department" regarding a recall on my Jeep and indicating that I should take it to a specific dealership because they have the parts and can fix it right away.  When I told them that I only take it to the dealership that I bought it from, they indicated that I really should take it to the specific dealership they had mentioned.  Nice enough, but still a marketing call for that specific dealership.

Just had to block this number- they called 6 times within 1.5 hours, no messages, when I answered on the 3rd call they told me it was for a recall of my Hyundai- I let them know I sold the car, and to stop calling me without leaving a message. So they called 2 more times really?

This number is to "the recall department at your dealer"....but then refused to identify the dealer he was associated with.   I told him he needed to lose my number, and do some "self-copulation".

I spoke to one more person, who didn't have an attitude problem.  This call is regarding a car you own or recently sold.  There are recalls and for some reason the dealerships are using telemarketing techniques to notify owners.  This is really screwed up and uncalled for.

Left a message about a recall in a Hyundai I no longer own.

Didnt answer, no message anf blocked after reading everyone's experiences.

Automated auto recall.

car recall notice.  Gave some bogus car dealer I never heard of (Lincoln/Mercury) and wanted us to check on recall information for a Ford.   We have no open recalls and I know this because we recently took the car in and all were fixed.    Repeated loop to hit 1 to maintain callback position.   I decided to see how legit they were and hit 1.   Never got callback.   And calling the 888 number back "supposedly" puts you in a queue but then simply disconnects you.

Sounds bogus to me given they didn't call back and the callback number hangs up.

Given that others have commented on all makes of cars not related to the same parent company, if I had to guess, this is simply one of those extended warranty scam services and they'll now try to sign us up for a worthless service.
