Automated system left message stating that "when Trump takes office in January all stident loan forgiveness programs wil cease" and to call this number back within 24 hours. I verified Washington Post reports this to NOT be true. When I called the 888 number I was sent to a leave a voice mail. SCAM.

got the call during lunch hour, transcribed as such: "this message is from the Department of Education in regards to Donald Trump becoming president, all programs for student loan forgiveness will be stopped immediately as soon as he takes office in January.  In order for you to qualify you must apply within the next 24 hours or you will not be able to have your student loan payment reduced.  Please contact us at 888-307-0680.  The number again is 888-307-0680.  Once again, you must get involved within the next 24 hours.  Thank you..."

I then called the number back, got a hold of some girl who answered too fast for me to understand the greeting, her name or who I was calling.  I asked if they were the Department of Education and she said no.  I asked how was it they could leave me a voicemail stating that they were the Department of Education--that's an illegal practice and I could have their jobs and a legal suit against them and she got flustered and asked if there was anything I was needing during this call or if I wanted to be put on a No-Call list.  I indicated I did and she forwarded me to a supervisor.  I told him I wanted to be put on their No-Call list and he said he heard I was having issues, and I again asked how they can call and tell people these things when they're not the Department of Education.  He questioned where I got that and I told him from the receptionist and then he said, "well we work in conjunction with the Department of Education so we're here to help you with your loans since that's the only way one can have their student loans reduced is through the Department of Education." I replied that he and the lady just informed me that they are NOT the Department of Education and therefore what they are doing is illegal and he said that's fine, he'll put me on the No-Call list and informed me that it takes three to five weeks for the number to update into their system under the code.  He paused, tried to get me off the line when I asked how he got my name and number for the list when I hadn't been asked or given out my information to either of them and he said through their caller ID.  I called from my work phone that is government property and therefore is unlisted to anyone outside of the system.  He kept giving me more BS about how they already have my information and that it's taken care of.  I finally had to give him my number, stupidly I did, to get my info on that list.  But I'm also contacting the BBB to have them investigate this BS company.

I've gotten a call from this number three or four times in the last two weeks. They never answer when I call back. I paid off all my student loans eight months ago so why should I be getting calls about loan forgiveness?   Complete scam.

Caller called me stated I was delinquent in paying a debt. Call was animated and he presented himself as an attorney trying to collect a debt. Told me to call the number, which is different than this one. Told me I had 24 hours to settle this or legal action would take place.

    Frustrated
Number keeps calling me. I've opted out several times. FInally, I was able to get someone the phone who demanded I call back from my cell to remove the number from the list, then told me it would take 7-10 days. THEN, after I was able to get a "supervisor" on the phone, I was told it would take 3 to weeks to remove my number. PHISHING SCAM!!!!

These people call my home everyday and leave a message. When I am there I answer the phone &  wait to get the if you don't want calls press 2. I do but still get calls more than once a day. I try to block the number  only to get the call from other numbers. I have told them to put me on the do not call list several times. What is really going on? I don't have any student loans either.
