Received a call from a company offering to lower interest rate. Was given 888 311 0279 as callback number. The offered the first 3 digits of the card number (which I am guessing are the Mastercard and bank prefixes) and asked for the remaining digits. Most likely phishing.

    Stop
It is a scam.  Hang up.  Maybe they will get tired if no one answers because you can't call them back.

They are connected with the other scam numbers as follows:
     800 847 2900
     701 920 9550
     623 223 6003

I just don't understand how they have gotten away with this for so long, but they use many, many different toll free numbers. I just started to capture the various used numbers to pass them along to the real authorities.

Very pushy stating my credit card companies want me to have a lower interest rate. I asked for information about their company including their call back number. When Eric Hamet gave it me, I told him I would call back after I research the company. He was then "insulted" becasue he "...is not a thief." He said if I hung up, I would lose the opportunity to save as this was my "last call."

Just spoke to my Credit Card company. They are aware of this scam. They have partial information and then try to get you to give them the 4 digits of the credit card number and the expiration date. DON'T GIVE THEM ANYTHING. I then asked my credit card company to lower my interest rate and they did....not as low as Eric said he could, but at least it's legit..

Auto-dial showed as 701-920-9550 on caller ID. Carlo offered to lower credit card interest rate to 6%. Gave location as Miami, FL and the callback number as 888-311-0279. Phishing, I guess.

Company called claiming they can lower the interest rate on MC charge card.  Verified with CitiGroup that they are not affiliated with that company and would never make such an offer over the phone.

My husband received a calll from Raul Rodriguez from Credit Card Services who indicated that if we owed more than $3,500 they could lower the rate on our credit cards to 6%.  He had the last 4 digits of 3 for 3 of our AMEX cards and wanted the first 6 numbers.  He also wanted information on our other credit cards as well as the last 4 digits of his SS number. The man  called back and became very aggressive when I questioned him as to how he got our info.  He was also able to give us the balance due on the cards but could not explain where he got the information from.  We had to call and cancel the cards.

Nobody here said that he was actually ripped off, nobody here said that anything was charged on their accounts, Nobody here said that their credit cards were ever used against their will.

Simply while banks & big corporation continue to rip you off with the high interest rates on your credit cards (which a lot of time its as ridiculous as >20%) you choose to complain about the people that offer you a chance to save money.

While banks continue to live off government bailouts while the average joe of this nation is held in debt. CCS are the bad guys and they are still the good ones. Ludicrous.

The reason we use such anonymity is to counter Banks scare tactics, They scare you of dealing with anyone to lower the interest rate so that you would be so blind to the opportunity your eligible to by law.

By the way, anyone can go hire a lawyer & a financial adviser and they will get you the new lower rates on credit cards. But the cost of doing so most times will exceed the benefits. We offer you the minimal expenses to achieve that.

Wake up people & hear the music, you are being scammed by your own bank everyday. Its a dirty business so don't punish us with your anger. If you have friends who work in one, ask them. i chose to work for the good side. at-least i'm helping those who want to be helped.

IF YOU ARE TRULY LEGITIMATE...WHERE ARE ALL THE SATISFIED CUTOMERS??
    WHERE ALL THE ENDORESEMENTS?
WHERE ARE ALL THE CUSTOMERS COMING TO COUNTER ALL THE NEGATIVE MAIL ABOUT SCAMMING, ETC..AND DEFENDING CCS?  I DO NOT SEE ANY..

AND YOU HAVE TO KEEP A LOW PROFILE TO COUNTER THE BANKS INVESTIGATIONS.

ALSO, THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU..HAS AN ALERT ON ALL COMPANIES AT ALL LOCATIONS WITH THE NAME OF CCS...ALL ARE CLOSED, MAIL RETURNED..NUMBERS DISCONNECTED..

I AM SURE MANY HAVE WILLINGLY GIVEN U THEIR INFORMATION, THEN YOU ARE ABLE TO LEGALLY DO WHATEVER YOU DO..THE REASON NOTHING WAS CHARGED ON THEIR CARD WAS THEY IMMEDIATELY CALLED, LIKE WE DID, AND CHANGED THEIR CARD NUMBER

ONE PERSON ADVISED THAT CCS WANTED $670 IN ORDER TO SET UP THE ACCOUNT??

THE FTC CLOSED DOWN A SCAM IN CANADA RECENTLY  ACTUALLY 2006

UNFORTUNATELY FOR YOU THE NET IS FULL OF COMPLAINTS BUT THEIR IS NOTHING TO SUPPORT YOUR LEGITIMACY OR HOW HAPPY YOU SAVED THEIR CREDIT, ETC..NOTHING, NADA COMING TO YOUR DEFENSE
