Got a message pop up supposedly from Microsoft in a Google Chrome browser saying my security system detected an attempt to gain my personal information and to call this number.

I received the same popup.

This message that someone is trying to get into my bank acct. pops up every week or so.
They try to get you to call this # 888-311-5117
I believe it is a scam

I just received the same popup message 10 minutes ago saying my security system detected an attempt to gain my personal information and to call this number 888-311-5117.

Got a pop-up with this number. Said it was from Firefox. Froze my computer and had to unplug it to turn off. Ran 2 scans and no virus.

red screen WARNING on my computer with toll free number to call 1 888 311 5117 CLAIMING THEY ARE Microsoft SUPPORT. Reporting ERROR Code  0xEB2194114. I powered off and rebooted despite their warning NOT TO. THey claim bug : jifinitelinkqwerti… and their screen requests vocally that I enter my email id and password… I refused ans powered down

I got the same screen and asked my wife to check into it. She googled the number and we believe it's a scam too.
I have a niece that got practically the same thing and it cost her a lot. She had to change all her cards. So, beware!

Also, this is looking for sign in credentials from MY SERVER.

Delivered by ads.  All of these reports could have been avoided by using an ad blocker.

these are scamers trying to sell you firewall protection

I use an ad blocker and I still got this. Did a boot virus and malware scan.

Received the red screen today. Did a malware and virus boot scan and nothing.

pop up from 888-311-5117 claiming to be from Google Chrome...said someone trying to get credit card and bank data. Scam???
