Called today asking me to send personal identification for all family members in household. Said it was about medicade and the insurance market. I called several hours later and it was disconnected.

Scammers who do not pay their phone bills frequently are disconnected.

Why, oh why, would you follow the directions in an anonymous PHONE CALL, rather than an official, snailmail document, that contained appropriate identification to prove who sent it?

Crooks.  Called and asked for my SSN, birthplace, etc.

Called me today claiming to be from the Health Insurance Marketplace and stated was responding to my request concerning my 1095.  I was skeptical at first but in fact had just a few days before done the very thing she said.  She claimed her name was Dolly and called from 888-323-1210.  She only asked that I verify my address and market place id#.  It was very strange, so I started asking her questions and my gut just wrenched in knots.  My first instinct was correct.  I immediately called the number back and said it had been disconnected.  I then called the Health Insurance Marketplace.  It was definitely a scammer!!!  Health Insurance Marketplace has not called me regarding my request.

Big Scam. Got the call some minutes ago. Caller said they have info for my 1095A from Healthcare Marketplace. He asked for my name, address for verifying purpose and my ID Profile on Healthcare Marketplace. I was sleepy and fortunately gave him wrong info. Be careful with giving out your personal info in the call that initiated from other side. If they can log into my profile in Healthcare.gov, they can see the content of my application, which include all my family members' SSN, DOB, ID tax numbers ... Our lives would be compromised!

Got a call today from male saying he was from NPI (National Provider Id) and there was a problem with my license number! What bs!

This phone number is for the National Provider Identifier.  Those who work as providers, individually or under a company, register for a number in order to receive payment under the new healthcare laws.  I don't know how the other commenters on this page got the idea this was a scam. Maybe someone is illegally using this number as their call back number somehow?
