They call themselves "Higher Edge" and are calling about "Nichole Brown", (who I am not) and continue to tell me they will remove my number from their records, but they have not and have called me every few days for TWO YEARS.

They left a voice mail but did not ask for anyone. Texas Guaranteed higher edge about student loans. I have no clue who they want but really wish they would quit calling. It is a recording when you answer, not a live person. And I do not live in Texas so I don't know how this has anything to do with me at all.

Not only do they call me but the also text me. The keep telling me i have defaulted on my student loans however that is not the company
I have a loan through.

HigherEDGE is a default management company that is free to students.  They are a support system to bring awareness and education to what happens to your student loan when its in it's grace period, or time for repayment, and if it reaches default status.  It is a great opportunity that anyone who have taken out student loans (higher ed institution or work) to ask their questions to.  They will have the information to help you become in good standing with your loan.  Just like loan servicers they gain their information from the National Loan Data System (NSLDS) where institutions report student loans to and where borrowers can view their loan status.  Sometimes schools and the clearing house report to the NSLDS at different times causing NSLDS to receive conflicting information.  Such as you have graduate but you are continuing your education at 6 hrs so you should still be in good standing not entering your grace year.  They are not a scam but an opportunity to become educated on your loan options.

Not a scam, eh? Then how do you explain the comments above? Calling over and over, calling the wrong people, answering the call to find it's a recording...
