This is from Bank of America Home Loans, the debt collecting division.  I have tried UNSUCCESSFULLY for the past 2 months to get them to stop calling my cell as they are looking for someone else.  Just can't get them to realize they HAVE THE WRONG NUMBER AND PERSON!!!!!!

So what did you do? Change your cell number? I'm thinking of do that now and I don't think turning them into the FCC will work.

This company has the wrong guy (me), and cannot stop its own mechanized system from continuing to call me. I am in the 27th year of a 29 year mortgage on a property in Illinois on which I have never missed a payment. Bank of America took over the processing a year ago, and started sending me default notices and threatening to foreclose; they also call me all the time from 888-325-5357 as well as 800-669-0101. I sent them proof of payment and a letter demanding they stop calling me. The FIRST time I EVER talked to them, their operator told me I talked to them about loan modification that very morning! A supervisor told me their computer shows the property in Arizona; my property is in Chicago! She said something is clearly wrong in their system, but she can't stop the automated dialing from continuing to call me. In short, they know they have the wrong guy, and they know it. But they won't stop calling!

I am starting to get these type of calls.

Funny thing, I do not own a home or even bank with BofA.

How can I talk to them when they never answer the phone when I call back

I have been getting calls from them on my cell phone asking for a Roberto.  I tell them that I don't know a Roberto and that they need to stop calling me, but the calls persist.

I receive calls from this number (probably legitimate, as I am in default on my mortgage with BofA).  They demand to know the last 4 digits of my SSN, and when I refuse to give them, they ask me to call 888-325-5357.  I've explained that I can't give personal information to any scammer who calls and asks me for it, unless I know for sure who they are.  When I call the number, I get an automated system that wants my loan number, etc.  I suspect there are more professional ways to go about contacting me...

They called my office. I called them back and got an automated call asking for my social security number or loan number. I don't have any loan with them. I could not get through to any representatives as they refused to talk to me if I could not identify myself....

We've been getting these automated calls for about 5 months.  Some idiot found a way to harass the people just by programming these calls.  Guess they're mad and everyone will suffer - even the ones who have nothing to do with Bank of America.  Guess what?  They can get away with it because NO HUMAN will touch the problem and they don't identify themselves to the person they call !!   We don't have time for this kind of childish nonsense.  We just blocked the call.

In October 2010, we started to receive daily calls, even on Sundays, from B of A about somebody else's delinquent mortgage.  Since our mortgage is not with B of A nor do we have any accounts with them, we're quite disturbed by these harrassing phone calls.  And good luck trying to get through 888-325-5357 as they ask for a loan number THAT WE DON'T HAVE!!!!   I've even emailed B of A and spoke to their customer service with not much luck.

Maybe it's time to contact the press.   Any other suggestions out there?

Got call from 1-888-325-5357 saying they were Bank of America, debt collector regarding home retention.   They said not a sales all.   If no account, call 1-877-430-3412.   Called that number and reached, of all places, INDIA.    Surprise, surprise.   Rep after telling about calle my checked phone number and got supervisor, who said they were trying to reach customers.  Told them not a cutomer and they replied that the system was down, couldn't check, but would put a note on number to disregard.   Don't know what it was alll about.
