This is a classic example of threats used by zombie debt collectors.

In addition call back got me nowhere. Could not get to an agent and no identification of the company other than "the legal department;" also a classic zombie debt tactic. Read the CFPB's advice on recognizing scam and zombie debt collections:

You have to realize that "blocking" a number does not prohibit that number from calling you. All blocking does is stop the call from ringing through on you phone and (in most cases) redirects it to voicemail (your mileage may vary if you have a landline blocker). Currently, no technology exists that allows someone to completely prohibit another person from calling their number. (And such technology would probably be suppressed for violating First Amendment rights if it did exist.)Gigi wrote:Private number keeps calling even though I have blocked it.
I do wish you luck with that, but do not get your hopes up.Gigi wrote:... I am ready to start legal proceedings against them.
Callers like this are usually scammers that will tell you they are the "Legal Department" or some other generic term and never mention a company name (mainly because they do not have one). They will abandon this phone number for another after a few months to make it harder for the authorities to catch up with them. Further, they may very well be calling you from half-way around the world where our authorities cannot touch them, thanks to VoIP technology and service providers that do not care who uses the numbers they provide or why, so long as the monthly payment check clears. - Me replies to SBSame message continues to come to my phone. They call from all different kinds of numbers...such as area codes 305, 855, etc. I answered one of these calls and toll them to send my information to the Sheriff Department in my hometown. No response yet and it's been almost a year. They still call

- ScammedB4 replies to SBSame; they never ever say who they are, who they represent, etc-no info at all. Terror as a tactic to cause urgent upset. I was scammed for over $4k years ago after my husband died and it put me on a periodic hit list. I’ve received so many final calls without any response as a result from their threats. This is me, though; if you feel a need, contact a professional debt expert.
