I recieved this text message yesterday. I called my bank and they said this was a scam.

I received a text message asking me to call 888-330-2811.  It also used the website camping.com.  I contacted them and they have reported it.  Your office is closed and I will contact your office during your business hours.

! received a text message saying I needed to verify my MAX FCU account and to call 888-330-2811 so I googled it. :) gotta love being able to google these fools... Add my name to the list. I will call during business hours.

Just got a text message from this number saying unusual activity on my account. Was unable to locate the web site contact@visacheck.com// so I googled the number.

I just got a message on my pay-as-you-go phone that I had unusual activity on my debit card.  I, thankfully, can verify my debit activity online and could see that this wasn't true.  Love that I can google numbers and find this stuff out.

My mother received the text message this morning to verify her Visa debit card account - only she doesn't have one!  Called the 318 number to report - stop these low-lifes!!!!

I received a text asking me to verify my Visa card information. I called 888-330-2811 and they wanted my credit card number, exp date and PIN! I made up stuff so that I could finish the call. I had a feeling that it was BS from the start!

I recieved the same message.

"You need to verify your Visa Debit Card account (unusual activity), call at 888.330.2811"

I found it interesting as I have no Visa cards.

A very, very, badly setup computer answers the phone.

Anyway, I'm on sprint in the 912 area code.

rec'd this today.

I get this cell phone text message at least once per week, usually it's the MAX message.

Got it today in the 706 area code but am not a Visa card holder.

got a text yesterday, again from 8883302811. This is the 2nd one in the past month. I called them back and they asked for my debit card # on front of card. If they want to discuss unusual activity then they should ALREADY have my acct.#. I hung up and chalked it up to a scam. Also I have to pay 20cents to phone co. for that text as I do not have unlimited texting.

I didn't call back, figured this was a scam and googled it.  Hopefully people are aware that if there is suspicious activity on your card, your bank should contact you directly by phone and they don't ask you for account numbers - they tell you the suspicious charges.

I received a text today at my 706 area code cell number stating that my Visa debit card had unusual activity and that I needed to verify my account.  The people that sent the text did not know that I have several debit cards with the Visa logo.  This sounds like a big freaking scam to me...when the 888 number is dialed, the first thing it ask for is your 16 digit card number...I was not born yesterday and will be reporting this...

I also am in the 706 area. My cell phone service plan is through Sprint. I received this text message today also.
