Why does the unknown number keep calling but leaves no message

Because they can?
There are various reasons that a caller might not want to leave a message.  For example, a debt collector, whether looking for you or a person who had your number before you, would not leave a message since they cannot be sure that only the person they are calling for will hear it.  A company trying to perform a survey wants to talk to a real person who can answer their questions and leaving a message simply wastes time they can use to talk to someone else.

Easily answered by simply picking up the phone and asking them when they call the next time.

Probably a little late  to be replying but in the event you visit this page, call back gets "Thank you for calling Boost mobile. Are you calling because you'd like to stop receiving marketing calls from Boost Mobile?" I said, "Yes" and it responded, "Ok, I've added your number to our Do Not Call list."
So, probably Boost Mobile calling but always a possibility of number spoofing.

I was called from this number and he said an issue I was having with my phone was incorrect by the agent I spoke with previously from Boost Mobile. I called the number I have for Boost Mobile and they stated this number is not affiliated with them. The man’s name was Jake.
