Melvin left two messages saying that he has just received a legal petition against my names (or our names, it was hard to understand him), for tax evasion and tax fraud. And they were about to issue a warrant for our arrest. He sounded very unprofessional and said he was from Dacks (?) Audit Department.

It's part of the IRS scam.  Another site, "who calls me" has a couple of reports.  Don't call back, don't answer, block it and ignore.

Received a similar message as Lynn this morning. A Melvin Thacker (it was hard to tell last name) claiming to be calling from the Tax Audit Department of the IRS. He also claimed a petition in my name (which he never mentioned, and therefore could be leaving the message for anyone) was being brought against the Federal claim court house for tax fraud and evasion to issue a warrant for my arrest. Portions of the voice mail are jumbled and hard to make out. The call only came through with a 3-digit number on the caller id and this was the call back number left. I called back and it went to a general voice mail, like I was calling a personal cellphone.

I received the same call. Called back, and and Indian woman threatened to put me "behind bars". I could not understand her.  She said we had 30 minutes to call back.  The man was Melvin thatcher that originally called.  He gave the same info as above

Got the same message with the threat of arrest.  The IRS doesn't use the phone for payments.

Where can we complain? They just did this!!

It's a scam.. they said the police were coming to my house to get me... 2 days later I'm still here drinking a beer.. lmao

They are scammer/extortionists working in India.

I received a phone voicemail from a Melvin Thacker stating that he was from the IRS and that a warrant was being issued for my arrest for tax evasion.  The call back number he requested a call be to was:  888-341-8432.

Clearly not the IRS and is a scam
