- Caller: IRS
- JPNearly unintelligible. Indian accent. Said from the IRS and wanted my husband for tax evasion! Scam. When i asked why not send written information, he said that they tried and no one was home to sign for it. Knew address. Complete fraud.
- BS| 1 replyThey keep calling but no one is there when I answer. Glad to know that I should ignore it.
BTW, I have dealt with the real IRS in the past. They send everything registered mail, do not use email as it's not secure, and do not call and threaten you over the phone or give just an hour to do something or "deal is only good until..." offers.- Caller: Bogus IRS
- NDClearly a scam.
- me| 1 replythis is a scam if I've ever heard it. BEWARE
- KJ| 1 replyI received the exact same kind of call as described below (though they took this further with me than is apparent from the comments I've read), and was alarmed that they had my physical address! I also spoke with someone with a thick Indian accident who said they (claiming to be the IRS) had filed a lawsuit against me for tax fraud, and when my questions and comments about this not seeming legitimate overwhelmed this person, he said he was going to transfer to his supervisor who had an equally thick accent. I too heard the sounds of what seemed to be a call-center in the background, and after asking some questions of him to determine if this call was legitimate (said they had already attempted to deliver a letter to me twice), he quickly said they would be handing this over to the local authorities and that there would be an officer at my door to arrest me. The phone then went dead, and I ended up here where I see the comments describing this as a scam...
- Lisa| 1 replySame as others said. Heavy accent. Lots of background chatter. Charged with tax faud and I could pay now or they would send officials to take me to prison in an hour. I said go a head and send them.
- Caller: IRS
- BSA| 2 repliesThe fake IRS agents are now calling as early as 7:45 am, I already spoke with them once and called them out on it but I guess it didn't help. The IRS even knows about them and as commented by others the IRS will never call you but send regular mail unless you don't respond then they will send registered mail, so don't fall for it.
- Caller: The IRS Collection Dept.
- Call type: Debt collector
- louVery heavy accent, so understandably, I at first thought he said he wanted to "talk" with my daughter (naming her by name!) I asked him several time what he was saying because I couldn't believe my ears and he was saying he wanted to f*** with my daughter. He asked me if I knew the meaning of the word. He said he was her boyfriend and she asked him to call her. He said he had a long black d*** and told me where he wanted to put it. He said he would be at our house in a couple of hours. I called the police and when the officer called them they said they were the IRS. When he identified himself they hung up. When he called the second time they said they were something about Walmart. The weird thing is he called my home number asking for my daughter by name and she just moved back here with me two months ago. She has her own cell phone that they didn't try to call. Why would someone from a call center make a call like this!?! I'm sickened!
- kk| 1 replySo I called the 1888-381-0739 number back. The gave me the IRS Scam too, so I kept calling them so much they took their phone off their hook. Good maybe that will be one less phone line they can use for their scam. I think everyone should do the same it's 800 number so they get the bill.
