While on the internet got a message about suspicious activity on my computer and that I could not continue until I call this number.

Opened task manager and click end task for the site.

Hey Sam, That what happen to me, but when I try to reverse phone lookup, its not a valid number. Is this for real? Do I have a virus or is this a scam of some sort??

Scam!! Scareware is what it is. The only persons who should be touching your computer is you, your manufacturer, Real Windows support that you have called and/or maybe a real live tech you see face to face! And be very very leery of numbers when you look to call the real ones, there are fake websites up. Never call numbers from pop ups either, thats scareware.

Website popped up on my wife's tablet, seems to be the same thing that Mr. Malone experienced, with a number for us to call regarding malware, and other malicious software.  Before I could look up this situation on the all mighty Google, she called the number. We couldn't make out anything that was being said to us.  This happened on her tablet and not a smartphone.
