person called and claims they are from TNE Mediation. Searching the phone number and company lead to nothing, except for this site.

Answered against my better judgement,  anyway it was some recording about legal actions,  like really? If there's some legal action wouldn't a real person call me or wouldn't i have recieved a letter in the mail?! This has got to be another scammer

called this person back who claimed to be bill collector.  was very rude, insulting and accusatory and refused to provide additional information about what I was being sued for.

Was provided a reference number from a family member that was reached via telephone. Called 888-392-0370, provided reference number, agent by the name Derrick Alexander answered and replied he is calling on behalf of TMPS Collections out of California about an account from 2009 that im being sued for and the account in question was closed with Wells Fargo. Ive never had an account with Wells Fargo. Goes on to say they paid for the balance of 1,708.36 and mailed a settlement of 802.00. Sounded all fishy and nerve racking that they had all my personal information.

Told them im not comfortable with this and told them to file the claim. Agent sounded disappointed, replied "file will be mailed", ended call and hung up.

Called Wells Fargo, they confirmed i never had an account. They took the number and will be filing a complaint.

I normally do not answer unknown calls but I received a call from the number stated and a female rep stated that I was in mitigation with a company called TNE. She was unable to provide me with any information except a ref# and 888-392-0370. I knew better and decided to check the number and found this site. I did not and will not call it-It's a scam.

One of the tricks they use is to call your family, friends, neighbors and/or places of employment (past or present or both) to create panic and embarrassment so that their intended victim calls them so that they can scare that person into paying extortion money.  They will usually also state information that would be illegal for a real debt collector to state to department and tell them that you are a deadbeat who does not pay their bills.  They often call people that have never even been a third party such as that you are being sued, that you owe money to someone, etc. They threaten that if you do not call them back, they will contact your HR associated with you because they get erroneous information off the internet.

The fake process server/location finder extortion SCAM usually consists of the following:

They mention that they have received a Fax document or some sort of complaint and that there is a pending legal matter or action about to filed against you to create the sense of urgency.  They tell you that they are a “process server” and cannot give you the particulars of the case since the file is sealed. This is simply ruse to get you to call another number (often with a made-up case number) where they will ask for money to “make it go away” (this is actually the same place, they work in teams, one pretending to be the server, and the other usually pretends to be a lawyer).  They threaten to serve you at home or at work.  They tell you that if they serve you at work then they will need a supervisor, security, or HR person there as a witness, hoping that will cause you to panic over the alleged embarrassment of being served at work.  They also tell you that you will need two forms of ID.  None of which is true.  Process servers do not ever call ahead so that you can dodge them.  Process servers get paid to serve papers, nothing else.  They certainly are not going to pass up a paycheck by telling you that you can avoid being served, they are not going to give you an extra day or even a few hours to get a “stop order”.  Court documents are time sensitive and must be served within a certain amount of time.  Remember that you can always call the local courthouse to see if there really is a lawsuit that has been filed against you.

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.  

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.  If and when you get that letter you should immediately send that debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail.

Received a call from 888-392-0370 @ noon today stating "Yeah this message is for read excuse me for the call but it is a company phone Im calling in regards to a complaint was forwarded to work firm it is imperative you do contact the firm to discuss this complete not being filed against you with a quart the number to call is 888-392-0370 know when you call refer to case number921317..." doesn't seem legit at all.  If it was anything legal they would send something via mail, certified.  It came in as an unknown number and didn't leave a name.  My son received the same call from the same number over the weekend looking for me.  I am not going to call it back as I don't answer Unknown calls.

My husband received a call also from 888-392-0370 from a Michael Man from TNE Council stating that a complaint has been filed against me.  Compared the my voicemail to my husbands voicemail...same voice...same man calling but his message is very inconsistant

They called me looking for my son's ex wife from over a decade ago. Yet when they call, they try to pass her debt off as mine and it is not my family's responsibility to pay back her pay day loans. I am so sick of getting debt calls from these people for her. This man that answered threatened my entire family! When I tried to tell them wrong number, the guy went hostile.

Since this is a extortion attempt as was previously posted you are assuming that she actually owes a debt that was a payday loan.

Keep calling me and my family members saying they are from TNE mediation that is a legal matter and they give my family a file number and is another number 8884859412 and 8622009793

I just got this phone not even a week ago.  Have it on NO answer and for a reason.  Only two calls and both SPAM.  IF ever you have ANY legal action against you - You will get notice via MAIL usually if not at all times - certified mail with a real attorney's name, etc.
