I HAVE ANOTHER WAY TO GET BACK AT THESE MORONS. CALL THIS NUMBER AND HARASS THE PERSON ANSWERING THE PHONE. THE NUMBER IS 800-781-3445. KEEP PESTERING THEM.

These jerks called my 76 year old mother three weeks ago.  They told her that I was involved in "illegal and fraudulent activity" and they wanted to know if she knew where I was so they could arrest me.  They kept her on the phone for over five minutes, scaring her about their "investigation".  My mother had just the day before lost her sister to whom she cared for during her last years and days.  It left my mom so upset, she could hardly get the words out when she called to tell me about it.  

They told her that they were with this firm. Mom was so rattled she didn't write down the whole name of the company, so I couldn't bring them up on google at the time, nor could I pull up the phone number they left.  Today, my office manager received one of their threatening messages about "an important legal matter" on her extension.  This time I was able to pull the number and link the two calls together.

I am so pissed off right now I can't even SEE straight!!!!

   Speaking to your mother AT ALL about that is a violation of FDCPA. Saying you're involved in "illegal and fraudulent activity is also a violation of FDCPA. Leaving a message on your office manager's voicemail about your "important legal matter" is a violation of FDCPA. Don't call them, call an attorney. File a complaint with FTC, BBB and your state's attorney general's office. Do not let them get away with such blatant illegal practices.

   They have updated their website to the new number, 888-392-6130. Their website is also a blatant FDCPA violation, it actually says "Ensure the bad check writer pays for their crime with our negative credit bureau reporting. We make certain that when a bad check is written everyone knows about it. The writer will have his bad check on his credit report for 7 years, guaranteed." So now, I have to check my credit and make sure they're not falsely reporting something (which I am sure they are).

  Their website also says "Are bad checks running your business ragged? Get the money you deserve and recover bad checks with Brown, Stein, & Weissman,  check recovery specialists in Loganville, Georgia. We have a network of attorneys doing bad check collection, check litigation, and check recovery for businesses. Using modern technology, we put emphasis on a new methodology that has proven to be effective. Contact us to learn more about our check collection services." It appears they are claiming to have a "network of attorneys" as if they are a law office. I find it funny. They're not collecting on a "bad check" from me, they're trying to collect on a payday loan that I paid off four years ago! The fact that they continue to call after being notified by my attorney to cease and desist obviously means they're not fully abiding by the law.

checked the other day and they had deleted all the negitive merchant circle 'reviews' There were also several bad "talk to me" notes that I guess they could not remove b/c now the entire Merchant Circle listing has been pulled.

These guys don't check the numbers they call. They have called an extention that is only used on a
midnight shift and has a voice mail with their name stated plainly. This number is not a new number for
the company it is at least 5 years old. I've had it that long. If a live person would call some of these
numbers they would not harass the wrong people. I will not call on my own off time (6:30 am- 8:00pm)
And now they just added 877-687-0935 to their list of call back numbers. This last call makes nine
in the last two weeks. I took it to the company IT Dept. they said they got nowhere.

The new number listed above (877-687-0935) belongs to "Goup Genesis" - they just got their business liscence 2 weeks ago heres the info from the Georgia Secretary of States website: REPORT THEM TO THE AG!!!

Brown Stein and Weissman was dissolved on the 25th of October. Happy Happy Joy! Although now it looks like our 'debt' has moved to something called "Group Genesis & Associates"  IT seems they use the same Tactics and are owned by an actual attorney. If they call you I'd file complaints to the GA State Bar Asscn ASAP.
