CRA Scam - they are going to put a CVITP volunteer into gaol for tax fraud.

This is for sure another CRA tax scam number.

suspect!!!!!! unknown name, automated voice. CRA would, I believe, be more legit then this!!!! Legal proceedings, going to jail. LMAO

Scam for sure! I missed the call, I've been waiting for one of these calls so I could screw with them. If it was the government then it would be in writing, or someone knocking on your door with a subpoena! (Defiantly not a computer voice??)

Scam caller claimed CRA  is reporting fraud and tax evasion.

Definite CRA scam fraud call! So poorly done it's very hard to understand the female computerized voice! How do people even think this is real and call them back? Pathetic!

It was an automated message allegedly from the CRA saying they were initiated charges against me for tax evasion.

Automated call re CRA Tax Fraud and a warrant for my arrest. I called back. The guy with an Indian accent introduced himself as Mike Wilson, an Investigation Officer from CRA, employee number 1428, 417L639. Took the name I gave him, put me on hold to retrieve my file. Returned and said that they did an audit of the last several years of tax returns and found multiple miscalculations and misrepresentations. As a results, they will be filing something in the Federal Bank and Federal Courthouse, and there will be a hearing and they will present a case. But I can get a lawyer and be there etc. Then eventually he says that after this call the file will be sent to the RCMP HQ in Ottawa and then based on my address they will contact local RCMP office to arrest me and put me in jail/prison (he mixed it up). When I asked him what address he has on file for me, he said that he has my file but no personal details. When I asked him why he calls me, he said that this is a part of a due process to let me know this is going on. Did not asked for my SIN or any other personal info or credit card number. Fun call but useless. Not sure whether to expect a follow-up or perhaps I didn't sound worried enough so he didn't push with a more standard script.
