Got a call from this number. She asked me to verify my address. When I asked why and who they were, she insisted I verify and said she couldn't give me more information until I did. When I insisted she tell me who she was or which company she was with, she said she'd verify at another time and hung up. Calling back to get more information gave me an automated system and a hold time cycle on repeat.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

This is very strange phone call. They call and ask for personal info. Them they treat you very un professional  if you refuse to confirm the info.

I keep getting these calls too.  I refuse to answer or call them back.  But, the next time they call, I'm saying 'Z107, you're live on the air....do you have the phrase that pays?'  lol

I do not owe this debt. Its hurting my credit somehow

it not only looks like someone has given you the answer to what to do about it, you should also contact the credit bureaus and check your credit and file a dispute if you have to.

Received a call from  this number looking for my boyfriend regarding a personal business matter.  After reading these posts, maybe I shouldn't even give him the message.

Received the call on 07/31/17 at 4:32 pm. He left a mssg advising me he is calling from a collection agency and that i need to call back at 888-400-6028, ext 204.

I just received a call from 800-400-6028. The rep asked for me by name and I said yes. Then he proceeds to ask to verify my address. I asked him what company he was with and he says he can’t disclose that info he is trying to collect a debt. I told him if he can’t disclose the company he is with I can’t disclose anymore of my info either. Then he said fine they will call back another time. Well I got upset and called right back and he answered the phone and I asked for his supervisor. I asked her what company she was with and she said the same thing. Saying they are only going to give that info once they have confirmed if I was the correct person. I kind of lost it after that point because I hate when people try to get over on people. Hopefully they will not dial my number ever again.

Just left a message to call the number back and ask for Minnie. When I called wanted me to verify spelling of name and address. When I said they should have that and told them to mail correspondance to me still wanted birthday and social refused to give it so they disconnected.

Same as above - leaving a message attempting to collect a debt and call them back. I don't owe anything so not calling anyone back - sounds like a scam

I like that one, we have been getting it on our home phone but the issue is that we can’t even answer it. Due to being such an old phone. They just left a message on Sunday at 6:45am.
