This is a number given out by a DirecTV scam company for you to call them back and pay your "5 months up front" using a gift card (Amazon, Ebay, etc) This is a SCAM do not call this number and give them any Gift card info.

I received over a dozen calls from people with heavy accents offering me basically a 50% discount for the next two years on my Direct TV bill if I paid $350 in advance by buying an EBAY GIFT CARD from a local store.   I was told I had to do it by midnight in order to secure the "GIFT".   The sense of urgency made me suspicious.  I was directed to go to a Walgreens or a CVS and pay the money and then receive the gift card.  Once I had the EBAY gift card in hand I was supposed to contact the "Promotion" Directv number they gave me which was 1-888-405-3158 to confirm the gift card number.  I assume they would then ask me to give them back their promotion code to continue the scam.  I took the information from them but first decided to call DIRECT TV directly to find out if this was legitimate.  Turns out it was a scam.

They offered me direct tv for 2 years no contract for $69 per month if I paid the first four months up front.

They offered me Directv for $69  a month I just had to prepay the first 5 months up front.  The key indication it was a scam was the use of the gift card and the urgency (wanted me to call the number within the next couple of hours. Wanted me to use an ebay gift card.

Just got off the phone with a "Ryan" and his manager "James" and they offered me a $30+ per month saving deal for the next 2 years, with no contract, with a partnership through eBay . The only catch is that I needed buy a $400 eBay gift card from Walgreen's and call 888-405-3158. Once I call that number I am supposed to provide a promo code and the gift card information for the 5 month upfront payment, to "lock me in as a customer". I google that number and was brought to this page. Like some of the other respondents to this forum, I was really taken aback by the aggressive nature of the sales person, and the too good to be true offer.

This is clearly a scam, as I called DirectTV and they have an offer for $30 off per month for 12 months but it requires a contract and it does not include any of the additional channels promised by Ryan and James.

I did not go down the rabbit hole by calling the 888-405-3158 number, for fear of ending up on some sort of telemarketing list.

Got the same sales pitch and the direct tv number popped up on my caller id...total scam...called directtv and no idea about this...don't call the number given to pay anything.

Yea they got me also now I'm out $350 ebay gift certificates

$69.99 per month for 2 years after the first 5 months of "no bill" with addition of movies channels and sports packages. "ebay is promoting their new gift card and are paying for this offer but I must call back before 9pm today to provide the gift card info". I called DirecTv and they had no knowledge of this scam.
