Call from "Adt" on caller ID but message congratulating me on being runner up on my entry for and SUV. I "won" a tablet and a $100 gift certificate and I needed to call Katie Clinton because this was time limited.

Got the same call on my answering machine - I didn't win the SUV, but I won the android tablet and $100 gift card, so I should call Katie Clinton at extension 678 right away! I never entered to win an SUV...

Things to believe:

• There ain't no such thing as a free lunch.
• If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
• You have not won big bucks from a benign benefactor, a pot of pesos from PCH, dinero from a doctor, a car from a caller, or a grant from a gracious government    ◄- ◄- ◄- ◄- ◄-
• The tooth fairy really does not exist
• Everything you read on the internet is not necessarily true.
• It is illegal to ask for money for a loan or prize, before awarding the loan or prize!
• "Free Trips" are loaded with mandatory & costly extras, and you usually must give them your card number after listening to a loooong spiel at a hotel.
• Microsoft or a different famous software company, or one of their agents did NOT cold call you to fix your computer.
• The moon is not made of green cheese.
• The IRS will snailmail you, rather than phone you, if there is a problem.
• Jackalope milk is not an aphrodisiac.
• If you "green dot", MoneyGram or Western Union money to a scammer, the money is gone.
• You should beware of Geeks bearing gifts, specially if the gift is a wooden horse with termites, or a statement that your computer is infected.
• 876 is NOT your lucky number, and it will cost you money to call that area code!
• The number you see on your Caller ID may not be the number of the person who called you!

Got also the same call on my answering machine. Never entered to win...but the extension was different 456 not 678. Very smart.....

I decided to call 888-405-8906 to see what they had to say.  It is a toll free number.   A lady answered (I didn't have to dial an extension).  She asked my name and then said you are in New Jersey right?  I said yes and she said oh we got the names mixed up and you didn't win.  I hope I don't have any trouble after making this call.

Got the same call.  I looked up the number the call was made from : 708-833-7056    It's from  Chicago Heights in Illinois.  The name for that phone number is "Fidencio Pena".  I was to call a Chris Zuba EX. 456.
Good to have these numbers and comments on web pages to help determining these scams.

Received that same message as everyone above but I have to call Chris Cumba or Tuba or Zuba at Ext 456.  I also never entered to win an SUV.  I am also on the Do Not Call List for all the good that does.

Received this message on my vm.  Says to call 888-405-8906 X456.
Same drill - I never signed up for anything other than the HGTV Dream house which I DID NOT win....
I of course will not be returning this message - and am also on the do not call list.

I just got a call from " ADT 709-515-9571" on the caller ID. Pretty much the same message as others here reported... that I won a Android tablet and $100 gift card. The message said to call Chris Kuba at 888-405-8906 x456. I called and spoke to a guy who wanted information from me but was unwilling to give me any details. I told him I was reluctant to proceed until I was certain this was legitimate. He hung up. These guys are so EASY to trace, when will they be stopped?

I got the asme message on my answering machine a few hours ago.  I tried to call the number and no one answered.  I to am on the DO NOT CALL LIST and people still call me with scams and other kinds of garbage.

I hope they put a stop to these people that do this kind of things.

I got exactly the same message- same extension. I think my message said Chris PooPah rather than Kate but all else is identical.

Pretty much the same:  "Chris Kuba or Poobah, some extension, won a Google tablet and $100 gift card."
Caller ID lists Chicago number, which does not come up in a search.  Betting it is fake since I don't recall entering a contest for an SUV...

Me too. Same message, just now. I never entered any contests, either. Seems like a scam.

I am the runner up and did not win the SUV but a DROID Google tablet and 100$ gift card. After reading the other posts I will not pursue this matter.

I won prizes too!  Yeah, right.  Sure hope Chris Kouba, ext 456, doesn't waste his time waiting for me to call.

We got the same spiel except it was extension 456 for Chris Kuba(?). Red flags: (1) They didn't say MY name, (2) they didn't say what "sweepstakes" or company allegedly pulled my name, (3) they said there's a "time restraint" [scammers want you to act fast so you don't have too much time to think about it and realize you're being scammed], (4) they expect you to go somewhere to collect the prize [no legitimate sweepstakes would make you do that for a tablet and a gift card, they'd just ship it]. If we had been gullible enough to call, they probably would have asked for a credit card number to cover some sort of "fee" [which a legitimate sweepstakes wouldn't do, either]. I hope Katie and Chris and all will be caught and punished.

I called that number Nad was able to give a false name and obtain information regarding the tablet prize. The rep on the phone stated I would have to go to the Direct Buy location to obtain the prize. Direct buy is a discounted membership for home furniture and products that you supposedly purchase directly from catalogs at huge discounts but the embers hips start at 5000 dollars.

So it is all BS when I asked her for the company she represents she said she could not tell me that information and then hung up.
