Been getting a call from private number leaving message about having your council return our call.  They don't say who they are calling for.  I called person answered said it was SCG consulting they checked the number I was calling from they had the wrong number

     SCG Consulting?  I got the same but it was ABC Delivery. Said there was a complaint lodged against me. The call originates from Manhattan 212 200 5003

This is a common ploy by criminals masquerading as debt collectors who are attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this,  all for an alleged or nonexistent debt.  One of the tricks they use is to call your work place, friends, or relatives repeatedly in an attempt to shame you into paying.  They also use the “process server” ruse who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

ABC delivery called me and MY parents looking for me and when I tried to call the number ( they called from) it said it did not exist. I then looked in the reverse directory for 1 800 numbers and it said it did not exist

Received call from Amanda, ABC Delivery calling about a "complaint" about "you". Called the number 888-414-5972 and man answered "SCG Consulting" and said "please hold". Stayed on hold for a while, then hung up and googled the phone number.  This is the same info as the rest of you are saying.

same exact story as everyone else. The tell you that they have been attempting to serve me legal court documents. Gave me a number to call right away. 18882203440 they gave me a case # for reference. When I called a recorded voice came on and said scg consulting please hold and never returns to the call. I called several times and I let getting the same msg so I googled them.  They are scammers
